You can tell when the afm is activated when it is in Drive by the slight vibrations you feel when you have your hand on the gear lever, when afm is deactivated the gear lever feels smother, i.e. fewer vibrations. I am sure it only is activated when you are in Drive and not in manual or Sport mode.

I do lots of trips to Gawler SA on the Northern Expressway (mainly all flat), with the wind behind me I get 7.7, in the other direction against the wind it gets 9. Purely highway running it is around 8.3 average, the 98 helps and I also travel light, 36psi.

I bought my SS 6.0 auto for the same reason. I average 8.3 l/100 km on highways at an indicated 110 km/h using BP 98. You get performance and economy. With regard to the 6.2, drivers have reported averages of 9.5-10 on highway travel.

Yes, I was surprised when I was told 300 ml, the only reason I checked the dipstick was the oil smell in the cabin and you would think such a problem would only be created by an overfill of more than 300ml. The oil level was way over the mark, incompetent, slack for such a routine procedure.

Of course I meant oil over the top mark not dipstick. The bottom line was there was way too much oil put in.

It was definitely 15 mm over, when the car was delivered at 12 km the dipstick was just over the top mark.

I wont chase it, just put it down to experience.

The rear track of the redline is 1590 mm whilst the SS & SSV has a rear track of 1608 mm, excuse my ignorance but is a spacer used on the SS & SSV to gain the additional 18 mm or is the rear axle entirely different on the different models.

I have read that the series 2 V8 is designed to inject fuel into the exhaust so as to enhance the sound, does this still happen when the car is driven in quiet mode?
