Will Kia Stinger really flog an SS?

You forgot the /S tag... "The three things that annoy me about this car" - proceeds to only list two things. TRIGGERED!

Service costs after expiry of 3 year free service.

Lifetime capped priced servicing if you see a Holden Dealership. Punch in your car details and it will tell you the cost of the applicable service. That said, if you are out of warranty and know a trustworthy mechanic, that is always a better option than having the apprentice at the dealership...

    Samsung S6 and Mylink

With my S7 I had an issue where the contacts would not sync with MyLink. The only thing that fixed it was a factory reboot of the S7. Everything was synced to Google, so it wasn't a huge issue. However it makes a huge difference being able to use voice recognition to call contacts by name.

    2017 SS from Chicago:

Lovely! I have found that for a few exceptions that car colours in the US are quite bland. I imagine that your car would turn a few heads - particularly with the Holden badging.

    45000 service

Ok - I am potentially one of these people. I used to have my VE Ute serviced by my local mechanic, who did an amazing job and was very honest and upfront about what needed to be done. I only do very low kms, so the timing cycle is what I work to. (e.g. I had my VE's 6 year, 90,000km service with...

Sound comparison video: SSVR VS MUSTANG

Having driven both a Mustang and Camaro on a recent trip to the USA, I would have to say that the Mustang was a more enjoyable experience. However the Corvette Z06 easily tops them both. GM needs to bring that to OZ so I can start my mid life crisis early!

Experience with Paddle Shift on Redline

To be honest I haven't played much with the paddles - but it's nice to know they are there if I ever feel the urge. Question though - do you get better results using the paddles putting the auto shifter to the left into "Performance Shift Active" mode? Or is engaging the paddles doing the same...

Will the VF SV6 get a huge depreciation next year?

In the short term not really. Yes if you are looking 7-10 years into the future, the VF SV6 will probably hold it's value, particularly in a market that will be dominated by turbo 4cylinder turbos. Unfortunately a lot of posters in this forum have drunk the "kool -aid" and have joined the...

    SSVR Sportwagon MY17

While more convenient, I think that the Holden standalone solution would be sturdier than one integrated as part of the cargo blind. I primarily use mine to ensure the dogs remain in the boot and not the backseat - if only I could strap them down to the roof-racks.

    Which VF2 SS Model wagon?

I went with the Redline Sportwagon as I wanted a "stock" solution with a warranty and it ticked all the boxes. Unfortunately the benefits of a Redline Wagon compared to that of a Sedan aren't really there. So I definitely think going for a base SS (Black Edition so you get the HUD) and building...

Second the blackout sunshades. Also recommend the moulded bootliner - has definitely saved the carpet from a number of nasty stains. Also really like the soft partition net, very easy to install/remove when required.

    More Proof Holden Hates Commodore

Keeping the "Commodore" name is probably the worst decision Holden are making, but unfortunately they are trying to have it both ways. They want to keep the brand recognition that the Commodore has in the medium-large size vehicle segment, but disregard all the history associated with the...

    SSVR Sportwagon MY17

As the supply dries up I don't think its likely. Even when I was looking in September of last year, the SSVR Sportwagon was in short supply. I couldn't even test drive a V8 wagon - had to drive a Redline Sedan and a Black Editon SV6 Wagon. When I went to buy at the price I was willing to pay I...

    SSVR Sportwagon MY17

Great car and colour - although I'm glad I picked mine up last year. The current pricing is ridiculous! Keep a lookout if you're ever around the Mitchelton/Everton Park area.

Did you see that ARSE stealing a VF Inside the Worshop area.

Yeah Eagers at Windsor. Probably the safest workshop to leave your car now - imagine plenty of new protocols being put in place to stop it happening again. Apparently the car belongs to a high ranking QLD police officer.

    vf redline vs ss black

It's interesting with the Sportwagon. You're asked to pay more than the sedan, but you end up getting less in regards to equipment. The inclusions are as only worthwhile if you are going to use it. Benefits of the Redline over the SS Black in a nutshell: Brembo performance brakes (approx $3000...

What deal did you get for your vf series 2????

Picked up my Redline Sportswagon last Saturday. I just love this car and certainly a step up from my VE Sv6 ute! Get a smile on my face every time I push that start button and hear that growl! Mylink is already pi(&^#*g me off with the pairing of my Samsung S7. Unfortunately it took a week...

What deal did you get for your vf series 2????

It's not like the price is a totally unknown quantity. The manufacturer websites usually have RRP, emails/phone calls to dealers usually result in slightly lower prices. Contacting a broker can also yield you prices as a starting point. You know that others have bought a Redline sedan for $55K...

    Cold weather affects keyless access

Cold weather can cause the voltage in the key FOB to drop below the threshold to operate properly. Recommend replacing the battery in the key. Alternatively microwave your key for 5 secs before leaving the house

What deal did you get for your vf series 2????

This is your problem right here. Car salesmen car smell indecision a mile away. Unless they sense you're committed, they just see you as fishing for prices. They're not going to give you their best price unless you're willing to sign a contract right then and there. ^The above is spot on. If...

    Red or White

As a long term "investment" I certainly think that the "hero" colours are the way to go. Particularly if it becomes iconic for that particular series. But for most people who will flip their car in 2-3 years when their lease is up they look for something that is standard and easy to sell. For...

What deal did you get for your vf series 2????

For me it's been a case of the Baader-Meinhof Phenomenon (Google it) since I signed my contract. Hadn't seen a VF2 Redline Sportswagon in the wild, and on the afternoon of signing saw two on the highway! (Both Heron White). Definitely more attentive to VFs on the road. I see plenty of VF wagons...

    VFII Paint (Slipstream) Quality

On a side note, a spray painter mate was telling me about the variation that can occur with factory paint jobs, depending on where they sat in the production line (particularly with metallic paints). What deal did you get for your vf series 2????

Well no luck with Motorbuys, Best quote I received for an SSV Redline Wagon was $64,200 which is only $700 less than an initial quote I sourced myself from a local dealer. So many great deals for sedans, but no love for the wagon (at least not in QLD).

    My17 Orange is real

Would like to see examples in the wagon variant. It's a fine line with these "hero" colours. Perfectly fine in the sedan, but can be "too much" with the wagon version. Although with "Spitfire" - even the sedan is a retina burning "too much". (This coming from an owner of Atomic Green VE ute).

VF II Sportswagon - SSV or Redline?

Really appreciate the feedback thus far. One of the issues I've encountered is tracking down a SSV/SSVR demo Sportswagon around in Brisbane to be able to test drive. I expect that the wagon will handle differently to the sedan and as one of the selling points of the SSV is the suspension, I'd...

VF II Sportswagon - SSV or Redline?

Wow - if I could get that pricing I'd be very happy. Seriously though - that's like $10K off the RRP on Holden's build calculator. VF II Sportswagon - SSV or Redline?

Hi all, I recently and regretfully parted ways with my 2009 VE SV6 ute. Despite it only having 17,500km on the clock, the arrival of my daughter in September of last year has prompted me to consider something more "family friendly". Happy with my VE, I'm subsequently considering a VF II...
