Maybe like 15,000 ago. I’ve also noticed the clutch fades so after a high rev shift or heavy launch I gotta slip my toe under clutch and lift it up of the floor.

Hey guys, Got me VE S1 SSV manual ute. I’ve had a fair few manuals but never had to replace a clutch. So I always thought the symptoms of a clutch replacement was the clutch slipping. And by slipping I thought low revs, low speed, high gear, release clutch and accelerate,the revs will go up...

So basically anything can fit ve but only rims that have been drilled can fit older? Thanks

Or maybe it’s pre drilled ve wheels. Yeah that’s it. Will pre drilled ve wheels like super sport 20’s on a VX still fit a VE

Well not a space as such but it’s like a ring that centres the wheel. It centres the centre of the rim to lip on the disc. Almost all tyre/wheel shops will have them. Shouldn’t cost more then a 6 pack. That was the issue with my Simmonds anyways.

So the common consensus is rubber mount or bolts. So how does one check this without dropping the exhaust etc. I'd much rather source everything I need and do it in one hit. That way the ute isn't off the road for to long.

Ok, so problem solved. Old harness out in 10 mins, beer, new harness in 10 mins, beer, clear codes and test drive. All fixed. Beers. However I did spot another issue with the ute. I'll start a new thread to explore this one. Drive shaft noise!

Ok so I picked up the wiring harness from Holden today. It was $48.66. It replaces wiring to both left and right sensors and appears to connect somewhere near the diff. I will hopefully get the ute on the hoist tomorrow and will report the outcome.

Yeah same, it's a Holden only part tho no one sells them. I'll ring Holden on Monday for a price. I might jump under the ute tomorrow for a look see if it's something obvious.

I did my tweeters at the same time as centre speaker so side panels came off pretty easy the other option probably works to tho if u have no reason to access centre speaker.

Just lift the centre piece, cause the side pieces clip up the centre pieces. So u gotta loosen/slightly lift the centre piece if that makes sense.

Un-clip the centre of the dash first then work your way to the tweeters, clips only. Ur half way there when u disconnect the centre speaker ;)

Hey guys, I've read in a few threads about various issue that have been solved by software updates. Firstly how do I know what software my vehicle is running and what is the latest software version? Is the software for ecu only or is there like a second software for headunit/hvac? Cheers.

No book was supplied with my car. I have tried sourcing another one however as you can imagine if I get one that means another car is missing it's books. And wreckers tend not to have books as insurance companies usually destroy them when a vehicle is written off.

I just bought it and had the full blown works done by a mechanic but from now on I will service it. Had it for 2000kms so still got a little too go. What do you do? Buy a 5L and 2 x 1L.
