I installed a reverse camera today, series 1 VE, while I was prodding around behind the dash/console area looking for switched power, I found a 3 pin plug. I somehow managed to short 2 pins with my test light and the sound went dead. Radio still shows stations, etc, just nothing from speakers...

I have, last time it came back on when I pressed the demister button, but I don't know if it was coincidental or what. Seems like it's got to be a dry joint somewhere but I don't know where to start looking. Does the BCM control all of that? Could it be in there?

Hi, My 2006 VE occasionally loses power to the centre of the dash. The radio, fan switch, AC, demister all stop working. It can stay off for an hour or a couple of days, then comes back again. I think it has to be a dry joint somewhere but I have no idea where to start looking. Any ideas? Cheers

My dash intermittently loses power. Sometimes it stays off for a few hours, other times a few days. The radio stops working, all the lights in the centre section, AC controls, heater fan controls, etc. Then it randomly comes back on again. Wondering if it's perhaps a common fault?

Thoughts on running Penrite Vantage 10W40 oil in a stock Series 2 VE SS, non AFM engine? It's a semi synthetic oil, I have 12 litres of it in the garage.....

I had a very similar fault with my VE, I used an ELM327 bluetooth scan tool ($6.00 off eBay) and Torque light (Free) app, it told me I had a misfire on number 6. Long story short, I ended up replacing that injector, so far it's running sweet, no engine light and rough idle gone

Solved! Replaced number 6 injector, sweet as. $72.00 from my local Holden dealer. I think it's now running the best it ever has, since I've owned it

Thanks all, I ended up replacing just the 1 (Number 6), fixed my problem. For info, Repco listed an injector that SHOULD fit, for $155.00. Genuine Holden one from the local dealer here was $72.00

Does anyone know the part number of the original injectors fitted to Series 2 VE with L77 E85 capability? Can I use non ethanol compatible ones if I just stick to premium 95? Any advantages to buying OEM over aftermarket ones? Any info appreciated, cheers

Battery is brand new, but this fault has really only showed up since replacing it...

OK, another update; I don't use the car a lot, only weekends, so things don't happen quickly.... I checked the compression last week, on number 6, 150 PSI from 3 "thumps" (6 crank revolutions). I know it's not the perfect test, but I've been round long enough to know that that sort of reading...

Now I've changed number 6 coil, Couldn't get the fault code to come back up, but felt like it was idling rough. Jump in tonight, ABS fault and Traction control fault lights both flash up. No fault showing on the scanner. Won't reset. 2 options now - disconnect the battery, hope the fault code...

I know this is an old thread, but I'm reading it because I'd like to straighten my wheel a bit, it points to the right by about 1 spline when driving straight ahead. Can it be moved, or is it on a master spline? If that's the case, I guess the only other way to do it would be to get a toe...

Update; the TC light came back on today, plus engine light was flashing orange. Same code (P0306). I cleared the code again and swapped number 1 and 6 coils (I have a new coil ordered, will hopefully be here next week). Drove again, no problems. Getting frustrating how intermittent the problem...

I swapped number 4 and 6 plug leads, then drove, to see if the fault came back as number 4 or 6. So far no fault, although I do still think the idle is slightly rough....

Update; Did a scan, using an el cheapo ELM327 OBD2 bluetoothed to Torque lite app, code 0306 (I think) showed up, misfire detected on number 6 cylinder.....

About 2 months ago I was on a freeway, 110, cruise on, felt a slight miss-fire, then the "traction control off" light came on, engine felt like probably 2 cylinders had cut out, then engine check light came on. I pulled over, shut it down, restarted, problem still there. Limped home on what felt...

2011 VE SS, Series 2, had for 12 months, volume control doesn't work properly, never has since I got the car. If I turn the volume up, it goes everywhere, usually ending up going down instead of up. Knob on wheel works fine, so I've just been using that. Starting to bug me now tho, I played with...

It's a sedan, the seats do look very clean though, makes me think they may have been re-upholstered

If you're just after more noise, I'd be looking at the mufflers. They look easy to replace, maybe you can get a couple of glass pack ones or something?Let us know how you go, I'd like mine to sound a bit more "Ballsy" but I don't want it to be loud. Be interesting to run it without the rear...

Hi, new to site, just bought a 2011 VE SS, happy with it so far, but curious about the seats - no SS embroidered on them. I thought all SS's had SS on the seats? Or was it an option? Perhaps my seats have been re-upholstered? Cheers
