Oil Pressure sensor 2004 Holden Monaro VZ CV8

My VZ Monaro oil pressure is similar at warmed up idle. 2.5 Bar =36PSI so that is fine. 217KPA = 31PSI, thats fine for an LS1 warm idle. I can't see your video so no idea what noise you have though. Mine is coming up to 200,000km and all I have is the lifter rattle on cold start when its been...

Can someone PLEASE teach Queensland drivers how to, err, drive!

Don't pick a State, it's pretty much most Aussies are useless drivers. Half the things they get away with here would get them abused in a lot of other countries. eg. Sitting in the fast lane in most countries will have a car up your arse flasing head lights and hitting the horn on no time. I...

    Suspension check Brisbane.

My VZ Monaro is coming up to 195,000 km and sounding a bit loose and clunky in the suspension/ bushes. Can anyone reccomend somewhere around Brisbane that I could take it too for an initial check to see what they think needs replacing? Preferably southwest Brisbane (close to Centenary suburbs)...

    Vz holden commodore ls1

Alternator is probably the main fault. Couple of years ago I had the same dash faults so had the reg/rec changed in my alternator. That worked for a short time then I started getting faults again. Bought a new alternator from ebay, same part number as my Monaro's standard one, and haven't had a...

    Front struts

Thanks for that, I'll have a look over it before I buy new ones anyway.

    Front struts

I've had a slight clunk in what sounds like front left of the Monaro for a while now and, after its recent 190,000km service, was told it was probably a front strut making the noise internally. Haven't priced Holden yet but I can pick up factory replacements for $110 each off ebay. I want to...

    2002 Monaro V2 CV8

Have a think before you decide to sell it, prices seem to be going up. My VZ has just passed 190.000 km and is needing work. Noisy lifters on start, suspension bangs and knocks, oil leaks etc. Considering I paid $18,500 for it 5 years ago and still love driving it, it's definitely worth me...

    LS3 Headers

Had a closer look, definitely not a bolt on straight swap. I want to keep the Monaro fairly stock but would like a nicer bolt on exhaust note. I like the look of these and think with better cats they would give a nicer sound.
  11. D

    LS3 Headers

First off, rest of my VZ Monaro exhaust is different to other VZ models but I am guessing my headers and cats are the same. Does anyone know if these LS3 Headers would bolt straight up in place of my standard cast manifilds?

    Dash has been going nuts

Someone elses video on youtube, you can just hear the whine over the exhaust, mine has stock exhaust.

    Dash has been going nuts

Mine was pretty intermittent. Quick check with a multimeter would have shown it as fine unless you lucked on a fail time. Without a standard voltmeter, wiring one temporarily so you can keep an eye on it while driving might be best. One other hint with the Monaro though was when my alternator is...

    Dash has been going nuts

Fixed pretty much the same problem in my Monaro a few months ago. First time it happened was probably mid last year at night, dash lights went out and warning tones started going off, car kept driving fine. Naturally I couldn't see the fault indication but was close to home so kept driving. Got...

    Refurb Steering Wheel

Jolls, hard to tell by the pictures but did you sew through the leather all the way around the wheel? If so, I can understand how the supplied needles would havebeen useless. I pretty much followed the same method in this vid with single coloured thread though: Still took a few hours as well.

    VH new paint job

I like the looks of the red interior in my Odyssey (grey) Monaro, that ccolour combination helped make me buy it. From memory though the VH red interior was a lot brighter and there is a lot more of it??? How about a 2 tone paint job like the SLE's had, think they had Maroon over silver which...

    Refurb Steering Wheel

Think I made a mistake by using doubled thread(like in normal sewing) when I did mine as I didn't have enough thread and the stuff I finished with wasn't as strong or neat. If I do it again I would just use a single thread. Here's what I bought...

    Refurb Steering Wheel

I just emailed them asking for shipping price to Brisbane. I'll get off my backside and take some photos of the cheap cover I installed, as I said only problem area was the thick parts of the wheel, the Redline cover should solve that. Just takes time and patience during sewing to get a neat...

    Refurb Steering Wheel

I think we are stuck with that sort of price for a decent job. I had been in touch with Gary West ages ago and was looking at around $400. He also does gear knobs and mine was worn and split, can't remember his price for that but ended up getting a new black and red knob for a VE SS from Holden...

    Jolls VZ ute project

I've been following this with interest, glad when I bought my spare steering wheel that it happened to be from a VZ ute. I could have, just as easily, grabbed a VY wheel and had the same problems. Those two unused large tracks in the clockspring could be for the later VZ's with paddle shifters??

    VY signal amplifier box

The only amplifier box seems to be for FM according to the manual, here's a cut and paste from the VZ coupe section, sounds the same as your setup so your AM section on the rear window might be damaged: FM Antennas There are two FM antenna systems mounted on the rear glass assembly: • A...

    Refurb Steering Wheel

Good luck with your research and let me know what you find. I've been considering the same for a while now. My original wheel probably isn't quite as bad as yours but does have a few chunks out of it. Mine has the alloy spoke covers and I picked up a matching SS wheel complete with radio...

    VZ Monaro front ends

Nah, thats a bad idea, better off just sticking to any other bar that fits. :) (Be nice you blokes, VZ Monaro bits are getting hard enough to find now and I might need a new bar one day )

    VZ Monaro front ends

True about the lights, only fitted to the VZ and the Coupe 4 to my understanding. I'm thinking of getting a spare set before they disappear forever.

The King is dead. Long live the King! RIP Commodore :-(

I'm not keen on SUV's or trucks. I do like Aussie utes though, had a BA XR6 ute for 10 years or so before I bought the Monaro. I could have been tempted into trading for a Falcon FG-X XR ute but unfortunately they are now 5 year old too. Think I bought my Vz Monaro at the bottom of the curve so...

    Help with key please.

I used River City Locksmiths on Oxley Rd, Oxley about a year ago for my VZ key, a new case with my old metal key programmed to the car was $100. Pretty sure to get a new key cut as well was an extra $50. They have a machine that they plug the key into and it sets up the codes. Reminds me I need...

Entering Blaupunkt Stereo Code (VZ Commodore 2005)

The stereo manual tells you how to enter the code but doesn't mention numbers over 6 (gives an example of 3651). Also you can enter 3 incorrect codes then it will show "LOCK OUT 1 HR" on the display. Say's you can obtain the pin from Holden with proof of ownership but that will probably cost...

    Rear wheel camber on Monaro.

Good to hear you got it sorted. I have read the same thing about Nolathane being harsher and noisier so glad you're happy with them. Guess I will have to decide when mine need replacing.

    Rear wheel camber on Monaro.

Don't want to change the topic but where did you get hold of a VZ manual Dgp? I'd love one that also covers the Monaro.

    Rear wheel camber on Monaro.

Not sure if this will help or not but these are figures from a service manual (VT, VX, VY, VU) I downloaded ages ago, doesn't actually mention Monaro though. * is the degree sign: GTS - Toe in: 0* +/- 1* Camber: -1*30' to -2*30' Sedan (FE2) - Toe in: -0*19' to +0*32' Camber: -1*27' to -2*29'

    Window motor/regulator

Sorted. All back together now. Correction to the above - only 3 of the rivets had let go so the reg rotated around the fourth. Ended up using high tensile M5 bolts and nyloc nuts to bolt the reg to the door, not going to come off again. Best part about it was it finally made me replace my broken...

    Window motor/regulator

Hopefully an easy question, when refitting the electric window motor do I have to sync it to the regulator for full open-close or does it just rely on pressure? VZ Monaro if it makes any difference. Reason I ask is that my assembly ripped itself off the inner door skin today (4 rivet things let...

    VZ/VE 6 speed gear knob

Just to finish this - VE gear knob (92184837) will fit VZ T56 gear shaft. More here if interested: https://forums.justcommodores.com.au/threads/5-7-6-speed-gear-stick.269463/

    5.7 6 speed gear stick

Finished now, don't know what I was doing wrong when I tried the knob at the dealers but VE gear knob will definitely fit VZ and probably VY, I did have to clean some old sealant off the gear stick and linish down the diameter of the flare on the gear stick slightly so that the locking lugs...

    5.7 6 speed gear stick

Might be wrong about this after all. Picked up a VE knob from a dealer this morning and measured it up, if I push apart the locating lugs on the gear knob I could get 14mm on my calipers. My gear stick measured 14mm so maybe the VE knob will fit with a little more force (didn't want to force it...

    5.7 6 speed gear stick

Didn't think I would be the only one with this problem. Good fix there Yamahahatim, cutting and welding the standard stick makes it easier but I still want to keep my original stuff. Anyone have a cheap gear stick they want to get rid of?
