2007-2009 AH Astra wagon roof rack positioning on the factory rails ?

Hi all The rails on the wagon pretty much run the full length of the roof. Does this mean roof racks can be placed anywhere along the rail? Cheers Rudi.

3.0 omega ute with canopy. Opinions? economy?

Hi all So what are these really like. As a comfy get about vehicle that rarely carries heavy loads. Just to carry surfboards, kayaks and dog in the back and on top with me and my wife up front. Also any economy difference to a VZ manual ute? Cheers Rudi

    evoke fuel consumption figures?

Thanks Z31na 8 and 12 seem ok to me How would you describe its performance? Like a stronger largish 4 cylinder motor Or About the same go as a 4 cylinder thinking around the 2.4/2.5 litre engines

    evoke fuel consumption figures?

Thanks Forg I don't know the vehicles you mentioned. I was thinking the similar age Camry Accord type cars. The Evoke Omega has a bit more torque to weight and power to weight than those 2. Though the Evoke Omega torque graph shows the torque line rise nearly vertical at 2500 rpm were as the...

    evoke fuel consumption figures?

Is the Evoke really any better than the old VE series 2 Omega/Berlina? whatcha all getting in the sedans and wagons? Looking at the torque curves they seem like a bit more grunty 4 cylinder type? The Max torque hits mid 2000 rpm so a bit earlier than a general 4 cylinder that hits about 4000rpm...

ok vz man ute ve man ute or 6 auto ute fuel consumption

Omega ute weight and diff ?

That’s what I found too and hope it’s correct. And hope to find people that have fitted the 2.92 into the manual and what it did to fuel consumption And if it was fitted to the Vz manual as well.

Omega ute weight and diff ?

I looked in Red book and even gumtree specs but the numbers are all over the place. 2.92. 308,3.45 If the series 2 sedans use the 2.92 and it appears the utes may use 3.45 a drop down to the 2.92 should gain a good reduction of rpm on the flat. Yes I would need to change back from 6 to 5 on some...

Omega ute weight and diff ?

Hi all Anyone know the true weight of the VE Omega utes? 6 cylinders 3.6 and the 3.0 litre. Fuel consumption? with both auto and manual. I saw that the VZ ute is about 1530kg and the VE omegas are the same or a bit more than the sedans at 1650kg. So Made me think if the VZ is 1.5 tonne, in...

    3.0 litre omega/evoke turbo?

Hi all Ive been thinking about fitting a turbo or 2 to try to improve the lack of torque situation and overtaking acceleration. Seeing the little 4 cyl cars do this and it doesn't seem to hurt fuel consumption and sometime improves fuel consumption I t made me think Why not?? I'm looking for...

    To go higher

Ok I know this is opposite to most out there normally do. I don't want a SUV cause they are too short in length. Anyone have experience lifting the VE wagon or v6 2wd Crewman's up from the standard height? about 75/100mm. Just to improve clearance when driving on gravel tracks (rougher than a...

VE 4 speed auto, 5 speed auto RPM at

Hi Greenacc Yes I think 2011 has the 6 speed I should have also said why regarding the 4 speed to 5 speed. Probably should of also added is there any difference really in fuel usage between the 5 and 6 speed autos too. Just in case I can't quit stretch to the series 2. No dual fuel for me. LPG...

Cant decide. You know the usual which car??

Cant decide on a 09 v6 Calais wagon 5 speed auto with 130000ks. Is it really worth it just cause of leather seats and a roof DVD player. Clearly I wont see the DVD player when I'm driving :). 2011 omega wagon 3 litre 125000 both $12000. Any idea if the 5 speed auto is actually much worse on fuel...

VE 4 speed auto, 5 speed auto RPM at

Thanks everyone So any idea if the 5 speed auto is actually worse on fuel than the 4 speed auto? As claimed. I mostly do highway. Cant decide on a 09 Calais wagon 5 speed auto with 130000ks. 2011 omega wagon 3 litre 125000 both $12000.

VE 4 speed auto, 5 speed auto RPM at

If the extra gear was just a selling tool, then the same must be said for a 6 speed. Are you saying a 6 speed is no more efficient than a 4 speed?

VE 4 speed auto, 5 speed auto RPM at

Thanks Zeke Not as reliable ? Still wonder why a 5 speed isn't as efficient as the 4 speed? Im tossing up between a 2010 3.0 litre omega wagon 150000ks $10,000 and a 2009 Calais wagon 5 speed auto 125000ks for $12,000 Tassie prices suck compared to the mainland.

Hi all I have been planning on getting a series 2 sportwagon but I don't think I will be able to afford one :(. I do a lot of highway ks and a bit of hills so I would like a economical cruiser. I understand the 5 speed auto apparently uses a bit more fuel than the 4 speed auto? I wonder why? The...

timing chain issues? Replacement options, does it fix it?

Hi all Re the Stretching Chain issues that's all over the web. Is see Mace Engineering do replacement kits. I assume others do to. Does these replacements fix the issue long term. Or do they still wear the guides and wear/stretch the chains just as quick as the genuine (original and...

Crewman 6 speed manual. Anyone put big diameter tyres/wheels on?

Thanks Figjam I think your right. I went into a tyre shop and they said to watch out for that too. He said go and have a feel of a Standard Crewman and feel how much room is possibly available. So I will when I find one. One can only hope. Till Reality takes all hope away :).

Crewman 6 speed manual. Anyone put big diameter tyres/wheels on?

Sorry for the repost. I originally put this in the VZ Commodore section but didn't get any replies so I thought try here. Hi all I haven't given completely up on getting a Crewman yet because of the apparent bad fuel economy. I drive highway a lot but also go up bush gravel road/tracks (not...

Crewman 6 speed manual. Anyone put big diameter tyres/wheels on?

Hi all I haven't given completely up on getting a Crewman yet because of the apparent bad fuel economy. I drive highway a lot but also go up bush gravel road/tracks (not 4x4) rough gravel roads. I see the gear ratios appear to put the 6th gear slightly shorter (I think means more RPM) at cruise...

    Crewman v6 6speed fuel consumption

Thanks Towcar I was talking to a 2007 auto v6 Crewman owner, He reckons his can get 700 ks on long runs and 550ks around town. from a 65 litre tank. Any idea if this might be real or selling bs?

    Crewman v6 6speed fuel consumption

Hi all I have asked about this vehicles fuel consumption and generally the consensus is the manual uses more than the auto. I still can't get my head around that cause its normally the opposite. Especially with older vehicles. Do Crewman manual 6 speeds normally run a 1 tonner diff that is...

Yep rear wheel drive. No need for AWD. When you drove them for the Force. What transmissions? Type of driving is. Crewman ? re weight and fuel , commodore comparo?

Thanks Calaber So if I was to put the same diff from a commodore into a crewman it might help? Car advice say the Commy and Crewman use the same 3.08 ratio. I'm think the Storm Crewman and Executive Commodre, povety pack. The reason why I ask about the manual is My work ute was a Colorado dual...

Crewman ? re weight and fuel , commodore comparo?

Hi all. I'm new here, so please forgive my dumb question. I've been contemplating getting a 6 speed manual v6 Crewman. I don't need a 4x4. and cant afford a 4x4 dual cab. I read a lot about the Crewman being really bad on fuel. Main reasons listed is because the extra weight and the 3.6...
