    Alloytec pcv

Yeah sorry I didn't name that hose on the passenger side in that post, but I did say in a previous post showing the routing for the 1st catch can that the pcv was on the drivers side, so I didn't think there would be any confusion.

    VZ RADIATOR.

A VL to a Ve is a not a good comparison as they have different engines for a start but as both the Ve and vz have the same alloytec engine block it was a good question to ask.

    VZ RADIATOR.

It's a different model of the same car. And lots of parts are interchangeable between models. Do you know for a fact it won't fit?

    VZ RADIATOR.

There are so many parts that fit many different model Commodores so it wouldn't hurt to ask if one cars parts fit another. I would be calling a parts store like repco or supercheap or a radiator shop just to check. If you already have a VE radiator you can try comparing it with the vz 1

    Replacement rotors

I just put slotted rotors and Bendix ct pads on the vz sv6 front. I've had slotted before on vr wagon I used to tow loads with and it was a huge improvement on that car. With the vz under normal braking there's not much difference just a little extra bite but under hard braking it's a lot...

    What would be causing this?

You need a respray. It's the cheap paint and clear coat they use and lack of care buy owner. Polishing a car removes a thin layer of clear coat leaving new layer exposed it doesn't protect the paint you then need to put a protective coat of wax on every 3-6 months to help prevent fade.

    Roof racks flying off....anyone

I know this is a few years old but to compare a tree falling on a car to an item sold by Holden for the owner to install and remove as they wish is just stupid. There are only two options 1 they were not fitted right by owner or 2 there's a design fault.

    Ve sv6 surge

I've been looking for an answer for a similar problem on my vz sv6 as some times it surges at idle. It will blip the throttle every now and again on its own to just over 1000rpm and drop back down to about 600-700 rpm when hot.

    Alloytec pcv

You can buy catch cans with more ports but they cost a lot more and with 2 different size hoses from each side I found it easier to use 2 cans mounted on a bit of 3mmx60mmx100mm alloy plate bolted onto studs on strut tower

    Alloytec pcv

Here's some pics of passengers side with original pipe sitting on top of new hoses. Sorry about quality.

    Alloytec pcv

1 can is between drivers side pcv out let and intake manifold as in diagram. the other can is between passenger side clean air tube from air intake to rocker cover as I was getting oil coming back through into intake tube and onto throttle body

    Alloytec pcv

Got catch cans coming, I hope I can get them both on the passenger side using the studs that are on the side of strut tower, looks like enough room.

    Catch Can Oil collected

I will be fitting 2 catch cans on my vz sv6 after I unblock the pcv. 1st can will be as diagram 2nd can I will fit on clean air tube from intake tube to passenger side rocker cover. got 2 of these for $90 I will put stainless steel scrubber pads inside.

    Alloytec pcv

Yeah ozNick I'm looking at putting 2 catch cans on there just want to unblock pcv first. I Had a look after work and after seeing pic of how the clip works it came off easy as thanks MaRtYz. It was dry no oil at all but the clean air hose from intake tube is wet with oil. I will pull it apart on...

    Alloytec pcv

Thanks for the pic I can see how the clip works and should be able to remove it. I was just going to try blowing air back through it as I don't think degreaser inside the engine is a good thing. I know there can be some oil mist back through clean air pipe but I've been getting a bit more than...

    Alloytec pcv

Ok I know there are old threads on here about this but they don't have the answer to my problem. I have Been getting some oil into my intake tube. I have cleaned it out twice in the last year during servicing. The oil is coming from the clean air pipe that goes from intake tube before throttle...

    Question about Alloytec ventilation

I know this I an old thread, but does anybody know how to remove the hose or top from the breather hole on drivers side valve cover to clean it out. I'm sure it's blocked as I'm getting oil blown out the fresh air side into the intake tube and in to the throttle body. And hoses on dirty side are...

    please help.

Owner before you was slack on oil changes, engine full of sludge = blocked oil gallery = failed bearing. The people who rebuilt it didn't clean it out and you've done another one. Make them do it right this time. Should have warranty of some sort. Make sure they don't charge you another cent...

    Shaking front end 2001 vx

Jack it up have a good look at everything check nuts and bolts tight, pull and shake on the wheels with hands at 12 and 6 and then 9 and 3 (clock face positions). Are new brake rotors sitting on the hubs correctly, rust on the hubs can stop the rotors from sitting straight. Could be as simple as...

    SRS Fault notification.

Did they tell you that they tried to remove the seat? If so I would be putting it back onto them to repair it. If you have no luck with that you can try and disconnect your battery for about 10-15 minutes turn lights on to drain any residual power, then reconnect the battery, it should clear the...

    Strut top replacement

The struts can be undone at top and it will drop a bit but it's easier and safer to just take them out. The above quote is for vz but they are all basically the same.

    Draining the radiator gives 3L

There will be a liter or 2 in heater core, make sure that the heaters on to flush the coolant from there as well.

Is there anything in particular I need to watch out for taking a V6 VP to a track day

As others have said brakes will be a huge problem if still standard. I've had a vn 5sp and a vr 5sp and after a few hard goes on the brakes the down shifts would pull you up better than the brakes. You can put better fluid and pads in and that will help a lot. Power steering pump might not like...
