Hi, I've got an issue with my VF SV6. When going over a hard bump or a dip in the road where the car drops, it's like the transmission lifts up and hits underneath the centre console. It's a noticeable clunk. Any ideas as to what might be causing this? It's going in for a service next monday...

Yep that was me, had heaps of trouble and took Holden nearly a year to diagnose. Was a $100 part by memory. If you take it off and you can blow through it, then it's faulty as you shouldn't be able to blow through either end with no power

Mine went recently on my VF too, could audibly hear the actuator for the fuel locking from inside the cabin. Easiest way to test is by locking the car, if you can open the fuel flap then it's buggered. Or vice versa, unlock the car and if you cant open the fuel flap - then it's also buggered.

I actually didn't mind it in my VE :P

Mine is fine... water comes at an instant on my VF. As soon as I pull the stalk, water comes at the same time as the blades. Sometimes it has it's days where it has to pump the water up a little, but majority of the time the water is instantaneous on mine.

Yep... my fathers old VE wagon would creak, sounds like the car is bending. Then my VE did it, and my VF also does it. Just seems to be a common thing.

This must be only in the V8's... my SV6 goes down to 1st if I leave it in manual and don't change down when slowing down to a stop.

I once had the cruise control set to 60 and then I went down a hill and watched it slowly creep up and up. It hit 72 and then to my surprise it downshifted to use the engine as a brake to stop it from getting any faster. Not sure if it makes a difference or not, but I had it in sports mode.

Yup. Used to have one in my VE from Carbon Car Systems, highly recommended. Worked a treat. But of course, now with a VF, I don't need the kit :)

Fuel purge valve, went on my VF a couple of months ago and had the exact same symptoms. Easiest way to check if it is faulty, unplug it completely and blow through it. If you can blow through it, it is faulty and needs replacing.

I came from a VE to VF, didn't notice a difference at all.

Interesting, all of my music on my USB that I used to have in the car was MP3. I just bluetooth off of my phone now, I like just being able to add music to my music playlist and not having to unplug the usb, plug it into the computer, download a song, transfer it over, plug it back into the car.

Is the gas leaking? I know when all the gas leaked out of my VE due to a bolt being flicked into the front condenser from a truck, my air con wouldn't turn on.

Yup, so that your head doesn't get thrown back as much during an accident! Now that I know that I can adjust it forward and backward, mine sits a lot closer now. It still doesn't touch the back of my head, but I only have to move my head about 5cm and it'll be there.
