VF wagon, would you buy one?

Spot on. I'd have to think twice about buying a say 10 year old car with 30-40 000km on it that has been garaged for a year or two with regards to the rubbers, seals etc within the engine and surrounding components. I came across a few of those as well. One I drove that had been sitting idle for...

VF wagon, would you buy one?

Over the months and months whilst I was looking, I came across quite a few wagons advertised as "low kms", with between 125 000 and 140 000km's for years between 2014 and 2016. I guess in reality they were "average km" cars if average kms are around 15 000.

VF wagon, would you buy one?

$26k, which was a tad high I thought, but it came with 11 months rego and 4 new tyres. Seller said he didn't really want to sell it due to being such a good car, but needed to downsize to one car, hence he was not going to budge on the price.

VF wagon, would you buy one?

Hi guys, did a bit of research here before jumping back into a VF (owned a VF S1 SSV sedan a few years back). Just wanted to say thanks to the OP for creating this thread in the first place, and to all the input from fellow members, it helped me make up my mind to purchase a 2015 S1 Calais V...

    Vf sv6 exuast

As you are in Sydney, I'd suggest giving Chris a call at Best Mufflers. When I had my VF SSV, he put the below Berklee mufflers on my car. We spoke about the V6's, and he said they give them a great note as well. He knows his stuff, so I'm sure he will come up with a solution if you don't like...

Are VF's going to be collectables?

Sorry, my bad. Contemplated the wagon, but got the sedan in black. First thing I'll be doing is getting it lowered, they sit so blo$#y high.

Are VF's going to be collectables?

Well guys I'll be bowing out from the VF forum as I sold my VF over the weekend. I've been reading though the last few pages before posting this, hence quoting Ginger Beer in relation to selling up now. I decided to sell for various reasons, but a couple that I'll mention here were that I...

    Engine mount replacement

Just an update guys. Had both engine mounts replaced yesterday (went with the Mackay mounts), and it was like I was driving a different car when I got it back, so smooth, a massive difference.

Great, appreciate the info and link mate.

    Engine mount replacement

Ha ha, no offence taken krusing. You are most likely right, I might be a 54 year old, but I'm not dead yet ;). I do tend to give it a bit of stick each day, particularly on my way to work through back streets as I leave early, so there would be a lot of 1st and 2nd gear stuff. So are the VE...

    Engine mount replacement

Transferring my engine vibration issue from the "VFII MY17 Redline Manual driveline vibration" thread. Passenger side (LH) engine mound has lost fluid and collapsed at nearly 89 000km. Most if not all of my driving is very much start stop driving in Sydney traffic pretty much 7 days a week, so...

VFII MY17 Redline Manual driveline vibration

Hi guys, just an update and a transfer to another thread (Engine mount replacement). After some research here and elsewhere, some offline chat with Ron (thanks Ron), and discussing things further with my mechanic, I might have found the source of the engine vibration/what I thought could be a...

I'll have another chat with my mechanic tomorrow, will see if they can do that.

Had a good look at those and everything else, all in tact.

VFII MY17 Redline Manual driveline vibration

Hi guys, just resurrecting this older thread as I've a sort of similar problem. I have an SSV manual, roughly 88 000 km on the clock. Had the car serviced in January, and my mechanic sad the harmonic balancer has developed a bit of a wobble to it, something to keep an eye on. About a week ago...

    Fuel injector failure

Hi mate, that's a concern that it's still happening to the last cars built. I have not been keeping up to date with the replies on this thread. Anyone know what brand/model injector was in our cars and what they have been replacing them with?

Engine Bay Cleaning - LS3 VF

Guys I think panhead or someone else posted below the link for this, or something similar to a youtuber called chrisfix, so I can't take credit. This is his guide to cleaning an engine bay. I tried it on both my VF and my wifes car, both came up a treat without any electrical or other issues...

    Lowering the car 20-30mm

Hi Ron, I have the following setup with as you can see the 19" Redline wheels. I guess it's given the car 'a not too low, not too high' look (the car had them on it when I purchased it): Pedders Touring Springs Front - Pedders Coil Spring 202954 (Full number written on the spring is 202 954 C...

    Best rear mufflers SV6

Hi mate, I've a series 1 SSV and put some Berklee mufflers on mine. I know it's a V8, and I'm very happy with them, but the guy who installed them for me said they also suit the V6 really well. Not sure where you are situated, but it might be worth giving Chris at Best Mufflers in Sydney a call...

Which injector prematurely failed on your V8 VF ?

Mate it varies, my first injector went at 44 823km. Yes, I've been thinking about any additional cars from here on in who have yet to experience injector failures. What will happen once Holden is gone:(

Has anyone bought brake parts from SSA on Gumtree ?

Ron, I purchased my front Brembo kit from him. I spoke over the phone initially, and emailed/sms'ed questions as well, and got all the answers I needed. Not quite sure where he gets his parts from and how he sells them for the price he does:confused:. Didn't charge GST when I purchased as he...

    Fuel injector failure

Yeah, it's going to be an interesting one for those with later models and low km's if this issue rears it's ugly head in those cars down the track. The way things are going with Holden (as discussed in the "The King is dead.... " thread), what will happen for those cars if GM shut down the...

Which injector prematurely failed on your V8 VF ?

Mmmmmm. Probably need some input here from some wiser heads than mine regarding spending more money on running a compression test, more likely the injector gone. It was intermittent with both mine initially, before running roughly constantly with the warning lights staying on. HCC took a good...

Which injector prematurely failed on your V8 VF ?

Hi Biff, welcome. I take it you paid for the first one to get replaced? If you did, and it was replaced by a Holden dealer, contact Holden Customer Care to get all injectors replaced free of charge, and to see about a reimbursement for the first injector (if that was the case).

    Replacing wipers blades

Hi guys, I recently purchased some AC Delco blades from Alan Mance Motors, who are a Holden (and other makes) dealer in Melbourne. They fit perfectly, and for $36.95 (free postage) are a bargain. I could not tell the difference between my original blades and these ones. The passenger side blade...

    SSV tailights

My preference is the S1 lights Ron, not a fan of the S2's. In your case, and in my opinion they give a better contrast with the white.

Sudden Loss of Power Steering WHEN DRIVING

Hi guys, sorry Skylarking, I got held up at work so got there just before they closed to pick up my car. The mechanics were gone and service manager was no where to be found, leaving me with just the service desk staff. I asked what parts were used and what was done, they searched around for the...

Sudden Loss of Power Steering WHEN DRIVING

Will see how I go mate. Geez they are good. Just got a call saying my car is "almost ready", however they picked up a couple things that need fixing. Needless to say, I said no, I'll sort it out later. I was initially told the car would take all day. 1 - Leaking Air Con condenser pipe. They...

Good one. Yes I've since moved on and back to a local mechanic, so far so good.

Sudden Loss of Power Steering WHEN DRIVING

Forg I was reasonably happy with Alto's services as I was actually getting my car serviced there whilst still under warranty. I had a few things fixed (under warranty) during that period, but then once I had the injectors issue and they decided they would try and fleece me rather than be...

Sudden Loss of Power Steering WHEN DRIVING

Pretty much the same as what Forg said. I'm also assuming Alto either have the parts or are next in line to receive the parts as they have them down as my "Holden Servicing Dealer", and are the closest one to me. It really is pick your poison with Holden dealers isn't it:eek::eek::eek:.

Sudden Loss of Power Steering WHEN DRIVING

Forg I'll be interested to hear how you get on at Alto Holden. I got my letter today for my MY15 and I to have to take it to them. These were the guys who kicked off the whole fuel injector debacle and had me pay for my second injector........ the rest is history as they sayo_O I'll be calling...
