Penrite GF-5 5w-30 is now GF-S - same oil as best as I can figure it but without Dexos certification. If your car is still under warranty then go with a Dexos certified full synthetic oil like Castrol Magnetec 5w-30 (discussed in an earlier thread) or Nulon 5w-30. If not under warranty then...

Hi Skylarking, To answer your query, the service dept at the dealership responded that fluid needs to leak 50% down the shaft of the shock before it becomes a warranty claim. Hope this helps.

The car is my daily drive. Had her since new and now have 41,000km on the clock.

My MSE is going in to the dealership tomorrow to have a front shock absorber and rocker cover gaskets replaced as they were found to be leaking at the last service. Has anyone had similar issues? I’m glad we have the 7year warranty.

On a run from Mindarie to Baldivis and back yesterday, a total distance of 170km, mainly freeway driving at 100kmh the MSE made 8.8L averaged over 100km. By comparison my ‘94 LTD (6 cylinder) does 11.2 under the same conditions.
