yeah i took it for a drive today and its not blowing smoke, don't notice any loss in power, i didn't really notice anything except for a tapping sound, i'll take it to another mechanic and see what they say, other then that i'll just sign up to RACQ and see what happens thanks for the advice :)...

well we had a look at the alternator today, we was going to have a look at the bushes but the part you undo, the plastic part has melted around the nut that you undo to look at the bushes, what would cause that, over-voltage or something else?

hmm sounds like maybe both are dead? when i take the lead off the car dies, i took the battery in and they said it was fine, it drained my dads new battery within a day of having it in the car, so i think its just time to take it in and get both tested and probably replaced. thanks everyone :)

yeah i hear some sort of sound when the key is turned and i put my ear near the fuel cap, it sounds like its engaging, not sure about the error codes will have to get that checked i guess, someone else said they had a similar issue and it was carbon build up so they ran engine flush and oil...
