    Lowering VF2 SSV Redline Sedan

To save me reading through this complete thread. Have a simple question for those that have done it. Does changing shocks make a big difference to handling of VF2 SS. I purchased my car with Walkinshaw lowering springs in it already and has now done 40k on them. I want to get it handling better...

Vf ssv ls3 6.2 upgrade options

Id have to kind of agree with this. The standard 304kw is enough for 99% of daily driving. Unless you want to race it or something. If I had my time again and in hindsight. Driving my stock auto one a few years back was all I really needed. Sure its nice having over an extra 100kw now. But...

Vf ssv ls3 6.2 upgrade options

Yeah I was expecting more. But I guess compared to a W407 setup its still better than that. Mine was on BP Ultimate for the tune before cam. Then on the new NPD 100 octane here in NZ. For the cam tune. So that should of also helped.

Vf ssv ls3 6.2 upgrade options

Car came with W375 already fitted. So cant compare to stock. I did have a stock VF2 SS before this car. But was auto, so cant compare exactly to this one being manual. But W375 does feel better. Although I think auto was easier to get power out of it in daily driving. Was not too loud with the...

Vf ssv ls3 6.2 upgrade options

If you want a comparison between non camed and camed on same dyno. Here is my graph going from Walkinshaw W375 kit with a tune. To getting the cam done a few weeks back. Mine is manual and for the gains I got vs cost. Dont think for performance id do the same again. Cam was 224/232 112lsa

Vf ssv ls3 6.2 upgrade options

Id say it is for sure. Ive just had a cam done in my and dont really find it that much better. Just sounds nicer. Gives a bit more in the top end, but not where you use it daily. Having the exhaust done previously, I noticed much more than the cam.

Do you mind me asking roughly what it cost. Ive already got lowered (Walkinshaw) springs. But looking to put some short shock in also.

    VF Series 2 W375

Just had my cam installed 224/232 112lsa. Interesting tune from generic W375 to custom tune (1 picture) gave more increase than (2 picture) with the cam install. Also cam was tuned on higher octane. But it does sound much better.

Test Drove series 2 SS Redline Manual W407

Does anyone have a dyno sheet they can post from a Walkinshaw W407 tune. Had a W375 kit on my car. Just had a cam done now also 224/232 112lsa. Gains were not a lot from a custom W375 tune. But im happy with it. But be interested what sort of curve official W407 kit does.

    Diff and gearbox service intivals

Ok perfect thanks. I’ll stick to the 50-60k like HSV with good oil.

    Diff and gearbox service intivals

Does Holden have service intervals for the VF2 SS diff and gearbox oils. Ive read through service book and cant see in it service intervals where its changed. Ive got a W375 manual and getting a cam put in it this week. Going to change manual gearbox oil at the same time. Just shop say the...

VFII LS3 Manual 1st to 2nd gear changes

Ok, cheers Smashfest. Mine goes on dyno next week after mods complete. Guess I’ll see how it goes. But I think I’ll be saving for a new clutch

VFII LS3 Manual 1st to 2nd gear changes

Bringing up an older thread.. But does anyone know the max kw and torque rating for the standard VF2 manual clutch. (cant find it with google searches) I know the TR6060 gearbox is pretty bulletproof. But is putting 340kw (at wheels) and 800nm through the clutch to much for the factory one after...

    Can the Cam?

So after talking with local shop and trying to figure out best cam for my car. Suggestion is I go for a 228/236 with either 112 or 113 lobe with .600 lift. Is anyone running this as seems not the most common cam. My aim is for mid range power.

    Can the Cam?

Ok so seems with good tune it wont be to much worse with a cam. No way I could get economy you guys in Australia get. Roads I travel on are hilly and windy. Im stoked to get 11-12 L/100 km

    Can the Cam?

Would someone comment on how they find highway cruising with a cam in the VF2 LS3. Mainly in regards to fuel economy. Currently have a W375 with custom tune (manual car) and not interested in supercharger (out of budget). But from reading several threads in here, I think a cam could be a goer...

    Disable traction control

Does anyone know if there is a way to disabled traction control with the VF2 SS when ever car starts. I tend to find myself turning it off all the time via button by gear stick. Just prefer to drive my manual without it on. So wonder if there is a fuse or something I can pull. So it’s off by...

    Tune Update - W375

Old thread, I know. But had a tune done on mine today. Improved a bit over the base one it came with. Also feels stronger in the mid revs.

    Max revs in manual SS

Now I have a manual rather than auto SS. What is max rev's you can take 6.2l SS to before changing gear. Ive always gone to about 6000rpm if I feel like having a blast. But watching a video on YouTube. Saw someone on track taking it to about 6600rpm in every gear. I presume if you take it...

    Dangers of not using car

Been a while since I been on theses forums. As sold my VF2 SS about a year ago. But now found a W375 manual, which are hard to come by in NZ. So couldnt say no. Im planning to use as a weekend car only and wondering is there any risks with only doing say 3000km a year in one of theses. I guess...

    VF annoying window/door rattle

Wonder if this will fix mine, will give it a go. I also have a creaking sound around drivers door. Seems like when window shut and I go over a pot hole or bump in the road. All around the window where it seals to door. It creaks and makes noise. Almost like door is twisting slightly. Its like...

    Lowering VF2 SSV Redline Sedan

Here it is after 1000km and loaded trip in weekend over dirt roads and all. So had a good work out. Just re measured heights on our warehouse floor at work, so should be flat. But using measuring tape. So maybe not 100% Done from bottom of rim to bottom of guard. More accurate than hub center...

Auto gearbox not down shifiting in sports mode

So ive been using my auto gearbox in sports mode lately but find from time to time when I try and change down a gear like coming up to a set of traffic lights or something. It wont change down. I understand how you can get "shift denied" on the auto box as it must be outside parameters. But this...

    Lowering VF2 SSV Redline Sedan

Actually good point. My sedan has a tow bar on it too. Not sure how much that weighs. I've never used it, so might end up taking it off. That may raise my rear end by 5 mm. But not sure.

    Lowering VF2 SSV Redline Sedan

Red Lion has a wagon. I have a sedan. So I'd think there would be difference. I could be wrong but think Wagon also has a heavy duty spring in rear, when fitted with King springs.

    Lowering VF2 SSV Redline Sedan

Ok so had shop measure heights with SL all around They measure bottom of rim to guard. Both back sides 641 Front right 648 Front left 652 So front a bit different. But will see how it goes at next alignment in 10k. As sure still settling and I'm 120kg and been only person in car. So maybe why...

Does series 2 bimodal exhaust drone if open permanently?

Interesting read. Ive got an auto and find I always have it in bi mogal mode on My Link system. But even at same revs and acceleration it can sound quite different. I find it much louder and drones unde 3k when its a cold morning. I'm going to take fuse out and see how it goes now. As it does...

    Lowering VF2 SSV Redline Sedan

I can confirm in mine I have SL front and rear. What Kings web site says I think is wrong for the VF2. As originally I went off there site and back was sitting too low. I now have following parts in car. Front: KHFL-151SL Rear: KHRL-152SL I have done 1000km in them so far and I think back has...

Anyone dissapointed with their W375 Package

Opening up this old thread again. Really after some feedback. For those with the W375 kits how are they finding them 6 months - 1 year on. Still worth the upgrade over standard. Any problems or things to watch for with the parts. How is the exhaust sound compared to standard one. I find the...

    Lowering VF2 SSV Redline Sedan

Just got mine back from shop and really happy with height. Rides much nicer over bumps than it did with SSSL. Its now got SL front and rear. So sits about 10mm higher than SS Flo Rida's car. For my needs perfect balance between looks and ride quality over the bumpy roads we have here.

    Lowering VF2 SSV Redline Sedan

Im doing the same. Got SSSL in rear and SSL in front. But finding it to low and harsh. The SSSL is only 349mm from hub center to guard. I need to get back to 370ish. Also despite Kings web site saying to run SSSL in rear and SSL in front I dont think its very even that way. Think it really needs...

    Lowering VF2 SSV Redline Sedan

Great thread as needing to raise my car up a bit again. Mainly due to rubbing and ride quality. Currently I have Kings SSSL in rear and SSL in front. As according to there web page. Rear sits at about 347 from hub center to bottom of guard. While I like the look of ones in this thread sitting...

How are people not getting rub on 20x10 rims

Hi Red Lion, Hopefully have it sorted now. Shop is going to replace rear rims and tires with same as front. Wont have the wider rear look. But hopefully will work fine. Will be a 20x9 with 255 32r20 tire and 40mm offset.

How are people not getting rub on 20x10 rims

Yeah considering I had 20x11's first and they said that would work. Now 20x10 and they said would definitely be ok as done a few like that. Be interesting what they say when I have a go at them tomorrow
