    Heal and toe woes

Yeah I use that method too, funny it feels OK when the engine not running but I can't do it smoothly when driving. Maybe it would be OK on a race track when you're breaking much harder than on the road. Will try to find that accelerator pedal, that would do the trick for me I think.

    Heal and toe woes

Yeah I totally agree. I thought about buying a set of sports pedals from eBay so I could try bending the accelerator arm around a bit. I also find the engine is slow to "blip", maybe that I'm just not used to a V8 (last manual I ownded was a WRX). Perhaps a tune would fix that.

WARNING LS3 Recall about to happen

Probably why they changed my oil - so they can say "no no we did it when we did the rocker arms". I don't think I'll use them for services anyway - convenient and cheap but too many questionable things from Alto now for me.

WARNING LS3 Recall about to happen

My best friend's dad used to have a business specializing in building inboard racing boat V8's back in the 70's, I asked him once which oil was good and he said any of the good brands, but best to not mix, said they used different detergents.

WARNING LS3 Recall about to happen

Yeah I'm a little with you on that one (not trusting them). I didn't really want it changed - I put Penrite in only 1000km ago, they use Castrol. Guess that's fine as long as it's a good version. Was more annoyed when I asked them why it was in Performance mode when I left it with them in Tour...

WARNING LS3 Recall about to happen

Had rocker arms & HVAC hose thing done today, all good thankfully, but they said they always do an oil change as part of the rocker arm recall. Didn't think you'd need to change oil to do rockers.

    How much would you pay?

OK I'll have a crack.... I recon VXR needs to be a bit less than a stinger or Passat 206R line ... so say $53K? Calais a bit less than that, can't remember what it misses out on compared to the VXR, brembos and adaptive dampers? So maybe $48 The RS 2.0T probably lines up with top models of...

Will Kia Stinger really flog an SS?

Sure is, red Motorsport... Neighbor also has red (SSVR).

Will Kia Stinger really flog an SS?

Yeah I'm at Lane Cove - think the only 2 VFs in the suburb are my neighbor and me. Good to be in something special!!! Downside is no local specialists for service. I saw a stinger on the road nearby the other day. Looks OK. Biggest issue for me would be cleaning up all the vomit in the back...

That was the price on Carsales.

Holden's going to fail in 2018

I watched it but kind of switched off. Too much talking... What will happen now that GM have sold Opal? Will it effect where the ZC's going to come from?

$62,464 seems a bit steep for a VXR

Having just spent $70 odd K on a Motorsport I know it's a bit hypocritical to say that, but it was a special edition of the last V8 commodore so for me it had that "special" factor and performance wise it stacks up pretty well to other large cars (unless you compare it to a VF SS I guess). Be...

    Holden Commodore Limited Edition models

What annoys me most of all is I FELL FOR IT! I'd hoped Holden would do a special edition, then in late January I read a Motor magazine article saying "Less than a week after Holden's Commodore 'Special Editions' were publically revealed it has been confirmed they have more or less sold...

WARNING LS3 Recall about to happen

So I'm still driving mine around. Trouble is if ever I get north of 3,500rpm I feel my chest tighten and stop breathing expecting catastrophic engine failure... Any recommendations on how to drive to take it easy on rocker arms until my dealer gets parts? (or I get sick of waiting and look...

    Roto-Fab CAI Installation VF2

Funny Cuda I must have been on the SS forums searching rotofab vs OTR's at about the same time you were and reached the same conclusion, great raps in the US and it's a little different. Would you go oil or dry filter? I'm pretty sure I read a thread from rotofab recommending the oil one for the...

7 year 175000km warranty on new holdens delivered

I contacted Holden Customer Care on Tuesday and was told to just ring the dealer, I could purchase for $1300. Rang dealer and they had no idea, said they'd get back to me. Today and said it was only available to purchase if I ordered the car but didn't pick it up. Seems everyone has different...

Are all W375 packs the same?

Very sorry to hear about Monstar, I don't post often but really enjoy reading the forum and his posts in particular. One thing regarding the topic - I think potential buyers will look at a Walkinshaw kit as more of a factory option and possibly pay more for a vehicle with one fitted whereas...

    Holden Commodore Limited Edition models

hi there, I also live in Sydney, am 49, car is in a carport visible to the street. NRMA were the cheapest of the main insurance companies' quotes I got. Almost as cheap as Coles & the like, I increased the excess to $1600 from memory (having made a claim 5 years or so back for a $2,000 repair it...

How many of you would buy VF SERIES 2 again (SS)

I've had an Audi A3 2.0T Quattro for 8 years or so - basically a 4wd Mark V Golf gti , had APR tune and exhaust within a month of buying it which supposedly (never dyno'd but feels hugely faster than stock) gave me loads of torque and the DSG's coped fine so far, but only have 55,000km (90% of...
  27. D

Well, the VF has gone - sold. So now for the completely different experience of the Golf R.

I hope my Motorsport hangs together OK once it arrives - I have a 9yo Audi A3 turbo quattro (also APR tuned with exhaust), I test drove a demo GTS (with the Harrop 580kw kit - as an aside, stupidly fast!) but it only had 6000 odd km's and felt looser than the Audi. I told myself it must have...
