I've had my wagon for 5 years, with bolt ons tune and diff gears its an awesome all round car. Fuel economy on the open road is great for a car pushing 2 ton and 450hp is great (high 7L at 120kph). Best part is with current car prices its worth the same possibly more as when I bought it.

Its a Kicker Slim Comprt, I used tapped into the rear speaker wires. Its still a work in progress.

I found the best way is to use the rear speaker for my source, then use a line level converter to the Amp. When you amp the speakers you'll want to add a quality LOC, I used A LC4i could be happier

I've got a a HSV system with 100 cell cats. All up $500 for the system, sounds awesome, with the OTR and tune.

Being a Series 1 (I bought the rears separately ) I don't have Bi Modal control, so mine are always open. I'm happy to help. Also bear in mind that with HFC that you will get an error code from the rear O2 sensors without a tune.

I went from standard headers and cats with HSV cat back to SV340 Headers and HFC. The difference was huge, as to drone I'd go 3/10 IMO, but like anything the longer you live with something the less you notice it. My wife doesn't notice at all and gets migraines regularly.

I have the same system on my Series 1, I've put 100cell cats on nice and loud accelerating, but little drone cruising.

My Series 1 Calais V Change Oil Soon is not resetting after using the ING on and 3 presses of the Accelerator method. I worked last time with no problems. Any ideas people?

The compressor is the same, and bolts straight onto the V8 brackets.

I have a Series 1 V8, couldn't be happier. Even better with the mods. I've driven a SV6, and no surprises, the V8 wins hands down

I was surprised how much louder it is by adding headers and cats. As for the "Raspiness / Echo" I would describe it as abit of the old school 308 clappy sound just deeper, if that makes sense?

I've just fitted HSV Headers and 100 cell cats to my VF1 Calais Sportwagon. But with a R8 mid section and Bimodals, also have the same issue, particularly when going from 1st to 2nd gear under light throttle( valve is constantly open ). I'm thinking its possibly the tips are the issue as well...

Best way I found was to use the rear speaker outputs for the Amp signal. Then use a 4" speaker (in center speaker position) connected to the front right channel for all indicator/reverse/hands-free sounds. Fader needs to be all the way towards the rear.

I only notice it when the AFM kicks in, I could also feel it with the stock system, but not as much.

Mine doesn't drone at all, in fact I have to get people to really concentrate on the moment the AFM kicks in to show them what its actually sounds like.

Good eye on the Headers.....I've got 100cpi cats to go on, it will be interesting to see how it goes compared to ones that have full aftermarket systems. Better invest in an LSD!!!!!

I used R8 centre section as well as the Bimodals on my Calais, sounds great IMHO.
