Well i had the exact same symptoms, changed the temp sensor nothing.. mechanics and auto elecs said it was going to cost me thousands going through the wiring/ecu and in the end it was the thermostat. Puts the car into some kind of saftey mode

If it was the ECU everything else would be playing up so i doubt it. Its most likely your thermostat which you can buy for $50

Hi everyone, problem was solved.. ending up being the thermostat. Scan tools couldnt pin point it so i went with my gut feeling and changed the thermo so far so good. Thanks for everyones advice.

Yea he had no idea, do you think Holdens scanner would be different to the standard mechanic/auto elec scanner? Thanks mate
