    VF2 Wagon

Hey RED LION, I checked out your post/pics re your ride. Your wagon looks great. I do like the chrome trim contrast/enhancement with the Phantom and wheels. I am trying to decide on brake caliper colour for upgrade. Your upgrade to Silver Brembos / black logo looks the goods and thinking the...

    VF SV6 2017

I too have the same car and overall is a good package and happy. However have noted the transmission is prob its weak link. In saying that it is smooth thru the gears. Check out the attached GM Tech reports. You may be experiencing the Garage Clunk. Its a shame GM have been aware of these...

    VF2 SV6 SIDI CAT Conversion

Thanks for your reply. Good thoughts and appreciate the info. My ride is a daily drive, so weighing up the path to modd-ing for driveline performance or keeping it stock for now and upgrading stereo and big brakes.. I guess this is modding the car to an extent anyway and the same would apply ...

    VF2 SV6 SIDI CAT Conversion

Thanks Cuda and Skylarking So if maintaining the recommended servicing intervals and requirements, and you go ahead with a mod and tune, is it as simple as providing the data log of new values to Holden when you take the car in ? Obviously they will see the changes but do you think it will it...

    VF2 SV6 SIDI CAT Conversion

Thanks for reply panhead, I agree a tune would improve output, the car is only just under a year old so little hesitant to go ahead while still under warranty and void the cover ? Or would a safe tune by reputable tuner be within guidelines of Holden ?

    Swapping Steering Wheels

Gday I would like to upgrade mine on VF11 SV6 to SSV flat bottom. The local Holden dealership is reluctant/ uncomfortable to swap due to a difference in bolt? Is there any problem with upgrade due to any difference in specs, column bolts etc or impact on warranty ? Any advice very welcomed. Cheers

Replacement vechile but clunk noise still there in the VF STORM

Hi, I have a new VF MY17 SV6 and have this same noise. It is associated with the Transmission. See attached report from GM. Nothing that can be done apparently, it is to do with a torque spike. I have noticed that it has seemed to have backed off, or I have detuned myself to the noise. Not sure...

    VF2 SV6 "TAKE OFF CLUNK"

Appears like its a characteristic of this trans. Yeah the ratio of gears seems good...nice smooth changes and range. Did it occur in your VE ? It does seem to have settled, maybe my focus on the sound has diminished !

    VF2 SV6 "TAKE OFF CLUNK"

thanks wetwork65. I have had the car diagnosed at Holden Dealership Service Dept and raised a case with GM Customer Care. Yeah, they reckon its normal operation of trans - apparently a function of the clutch take up in first gear and subsequent torque spike causing the issue. No noise if using...

    VF2 SV6 "TAKE OFF CLUNK"

Thanks for your reply Sean880. Car is brand new. There is a tech bulletin for what GM call a "garage clunk" shift from D to R, or P to R. Something to do with the output shaft and flanges. I don't have this problem, however do have a "ping" sound when quickly pressing the throttle ? This trans...

    VF2 SV6 "TAKE OFF CLUNK"

Hello, new member. Any feedback on this very welcomed. I own a my17 sv6 wagon and have raised concern over a clunk/thud created by transmission under light to medium throttle. I have been advised this is a normal "characteristic" of transmission - 6L45e. Very annoying and disappointing for new...
