    VE Alloytec Start Up Noise Woes

    If it is the oil pump, and I can't confirm as I'm not familiar with that noise, it's only $100 ish from mace but you have to pull the whole motor apart to get to it. If the timing chains have never been done, I'd fork out the extra $550 and do the chains as well, because it's a big job.

And yes i wanted to avoid two wheel alignments finding out me "rack ends" are f'd coz i wont really know until i disengage the tie rods from the control arm and theyre not that expensive.     Long time reader, first time poster! Ok I replaced the buggered pcv hose on my calais, and as a final check, put a tally ho paper over the dipstick tube expecting to see a slight vacuum. No vacuum. Normally this would mean a stuck pcv valve, which the alloytec doesn't have. So my question...
