Matt's ZB RS-V wagon long term review

For anyone that's interested I have just had my 24k service and a new fuel sender is now on back order to be replaced under warranty.

That’s very good tyre mileage!! Mine is a V6 and will be lucky to get 30k. The Diesels must be kind on the rubber.

I totally agree but unfortunately it is the “axle that squeaks the loudest gets the grease”. I am 1k off my 24k service and have already called in my warranty issues.

Thanks mate! They can have another go at the speedo cluster rattles while they are there...

Ok thanks Robdre. Mine is up for a service so I will be requesting a new fuel sender. I did not get a recall notice which is annoying. I’m guessing Holden won’t be putting their hand up for fixing things following the axing of the brand.

Exactly the same. Even with fuel running out of the filler it still only reads 7/8th max. I notice there is a sticker on the inside of the filler door with a right and wrong picture of how to insert the bowser nozzle... Ive tried both ways.. no different.

Is anyone else unable to get a full tank of fuel in their ZB? Most times I can only get between 3/4 and full. Only a couple of times I have got a full tank on the gauge. Is it a sender/gauge/calibration fault or I am doing something wrong when filling?

Does anyone know if the V6 actually has AFM?

They are quite thirsty compared to the 4T. I have done 6,200 k's in mine and computer says my average is 9.7 but I live in the country and do around 70% highway driving. I'm not nice to it either love how it revs...

Ok thanks, is that fit on a wagon or a liftback?

Thanks Badgerdog! I do like the Conti Contact 5's. Very quiet and like you said hang in the corners but not practical for me doing above average k's per year. Thanks for the info I might throw a set of Michy's on next.

Nope no BS! They love the ZB's over the VF. And thought I would never say it but I drove my Wife's VEII SV6 wagon the other day and couldn't wait to get back into my RS-V. It felt heavy, sluggish on pick up and handled like a boat!

Seem to be. I will rotate them when my new control arms turn up.

Up Update on my warranty issues: Still waiting for front control arms to fix noisy bushes. Left rear door speaker now working - cable was not connected.... Auto stop now working - needed a new battery. Battery must of had a fault and was telling the computer it wasn't charged so auto stop...

Good work Steve! I reckon it should be able to be turned on. I have asked my dealer and they are going back to Holden..Lol. Here is a link from Bose on the system thats in the VXR https://i.pinimg.com/originals/a3/ab/97/a3ab9734f2294101004276a66ded1440.jpg

Obviously deliberately not powered by the amp. Seems ridiculous!! Do all us RS-V owners have a case to get Holden to connect them making it an 8 speaker stereo as advertised?

Ok thanks Anthony. Sound very high tech but obviously standard kit these days.

Matt's ZB RS-V wagon long term review

Waste of time and money. Why would Opel even bother putting it in. Just makes getting the spare out harder. I wonder if you can pay for the 8 speaker upgrade?

    False advertising I reckon.

Matt's ZB RS-V wagon long term review

The Bose systems with sub are only in the VXR and Calais V and they do have a separate amp in the boot. The RS-V sub is not a sub (apparantly) it is for noise cancellation .. Its somehow linked to the tiny little speakers in the roof head lining under front grab handles...? That's what my dealer...

Matt's ZB RS-V wagon long term review

So they are still claiming an 8 speaker stereo? Maybe if you bring a battery operated wireless then that makes up the 8th?
  28. R

Matt's ZB RS-V wagon long term review

Yes true. I wonder where the 8th speaker is hiding? 1 in dash, 2 in each front door and 1 in each rear door = 7.

Matt's ZB RS-V wagon long term review

Hi Steve, Thanks for the feedback! Ill just sit tight on the control arms then. It seems my auto stop is faulty then work. Took it to dealer and they said it only works on the V6 every now and then depending on alternator load, engine temp, etc. But mine has never worked. As for the rear door...

Matt's ZB RS-V wagon long term review

I have just purchased a RS-V wagon like Matt's. Ex GMH exec driven with 8,000 k's and balance of 5 years warranty. Seems to be a great car EXCEPT a few issues I'm not impressed about: Front control arm bushes need replacing - creaking groaning like a 70's land cruiser under brakes and on uneven...
