Hey mate if you're keen on a 308 V8 set-up I have an original VK Black 308 virgin bore sitting at the folks place (Sump (HQ-HZ) to Maniifold (not including Carb, Dizzy or Exhaust Manifolds)) that I removed from my VK Calais way back in 2001 when I had mine and swapped it over worked over one out...

Looks so much cleaner now with with the body coloured grille like factory! Just need to lose the mud flaps & the RACV badge and it'll look TUFF AS!!! (just my 2c)

Just convince Matt that he needs to cut up the UTE and fit a Turbo'd LSx into it, Tub it etc just make it a purpose built Drag car then he can keep the VK as his weekend bruiser/cruiser albeit with his current combo in it! It just makes it a bit more fun until mister plod appears in his rearview...

$300 is pretty good price mate! about 10 years ago I got quoted for my old VH to replace all the old rubbers on the car @ pedders and it was $1400 inc fitting! and that was'nt even including any sway bars, springs or shocks! I think it was about $600 or $700 just for the bushes without fitting!

I'd be looking at some Super Pro urethane bushes! Not a bad start for a cruiser project mate!

BTW, Im not after anything too acurate like Ltrs per 100km's or anything just average K's per tank will do! I used to own a 5 Ltr VK Calais about 7 years ago and that never got anything better than 300 k's per tank average for that was about 220-250 in reality! I just hope it is a little bit...
