Cheers mate, but a ute isn't going to suit my needs. Thanks anyway :)

[VIC] WTB: VX SS Sedan or V8 Berlina Wagon, VY or VZ SS Wagon, VIC.

DESCRIPTION: WTB ITEM: I'm looking for either a VX SS Sedan, VX Berlina V8 Wagon, VY or VZ SS wagon, Automatic prefferably. I'd prefer a wagon of some sort, but will settle on a VX SS sedan as they look rubbish post this model. LOCATION: VIC, SE Suburbs CONDITION: Used DELIVERY/PICK...

Better things to do with my time...

They do chew a bit of juice while on. My thermo fan almost never comes on unless I'm sitting in traffic and/or it's stinking hot. The twin AU or twin VT (epic win) sounds like the go. There should be a spot for a relay so you can have it switched when the temp gets to a certain level, or add...

My VN has a VP Dash???

No difference in the console, Berlina LX and Calais both have full electric windows, different cluster and switches around the dash though.

    Vp v6 exhaust

I have a 2.5" mandrel bent redback with no resi on my VP V6 wagon. Best money I've ever spent on it. Hardly drones (between 50-60km/h), quiet as a mouse inside the cabin while cruising, very noticable power difference from the 2.25" full sports I used to run before a stray speed hump tore it...

    Cargo Blind?

There was a VN-VS cargo blind on ebay last week for about the $50 mark. I just went the streetwagons route and put 18% tint all round. Can't see squat.

How do I remove a VP Front Bar?

Cheers guys. The only reason I asked is I thought it's probably going to be easier to fit the ss lip to the bar when it's off the car, and it's fairly slammed. Thanks again.

How do I remove a VP Front Bar?

Hey, I'm in the process of painting and fitting an SS kit to my VP wagon, got no issues getting the rear bar off, but the front I have no idea. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

    forum f4gs

Is it possible to do a VP S1 remote code on say a VR single button key head? I have the vehicle security details, from getting my current remote from Bay City Holden, who were very helpful. The only issue was it never worked quite right, and now it's quit entirely... what a waste of money. I...

    Fazz's '92 VP Streetwagon

Won an SS rear lip off ebay for some paltry sum of bugger all money. Just gotta glass it a bit to fix the sedan's ghey exhaust slot being in entirely the wrong spot to fit a real car (aka: wagon). Then it'll rock. Then, VP SS front lip. Mmmmm. Update: I just whacked the VS sedan superlows...

Hey have you got the exterior door plastic bits? Or did they go with the doors? I swear I've seen a bunch of these bits on ebay. I almost bought the rear bar at one stage.

    Fazz's '92 VP Streetwagon

Cheers guys. I wanna go another 1" or so in the back, it's hard though. Heaps of people say I should, but the fact remains I lost my old exhaust on a speedhump on an AP cruise a few months back, and none of the guys who were telling me to slam it more even scraped, haha, funny that. With the...

    Fazz's '92 VP Streetwagon

Thanks mate :) I haven't got the front tinted, it just looks it in that first pic. I have a couple of pics of the stereo, but It's in bits at the moment getting a rewire so I'll do some more when it's done in a few days :)

    Car Audio 101: The Fundamentals

Another myth is that rear 6x9"s are the be-all and end-all. I have them in mine and I hate them, haha. All the fun is in the sub and front stage. AMP your front stage and run the rears off the HU if you have to. Not the other way around. Rear fill is a nice addition but shouldn't overpower...

Car Audio 101: Speakers that woof! and Kennels to put them in.

Hey mate. The vast majority of my listening is metal and hardcore with heaps of hard fast kick drum action. I run a Kenwood DVC in a ported box and it sounds amazing. You just need to spend time tuning everything up nicely so it doesn't sound woolly and muffled. I'm pretty happy with it, but am...

    the search for good ground?

Yep, I floor-panned my grounds, and put in a 4ga battery ground so there's no bottlenecks. Made heaps of difference.

    Stereo settings

All excellent points. Crossovers are wonderful things. EQs are just as good, as long as you're not boosting frequencies. Work from the flat setting, and cut what seems harsh or boomy. You'll keep your amps headroom and avoild distortion, and have a system that sounds like a recording studio...

The "Which speakers should i buy" thread

I can honestly say that my Jaycar Response Precision kevlar 6.5" components are one of the nicest speakers I've ever heard, next to the old Alpine DDDrive splits. And for $149 rrp you can't go wrong. They MUST be amped though. HUs don't pump the juice out enough.

    Fazz's '92 VP Streetwagon

Cheers mate. I think so. It's come a long way since anyone here (apart from Nedwob and Co from Streetwagons) has seen it. Skirts go on tomorrow, would love to find a VP SS front lip and a VQ rear lip, but they're rare as hen's teeth these days. Para EQ and crossover goes in next week. Also...

Cross members first thing to fail hitting curbs?

I'd be checking tie rod ends, ball joints, the whole damn lot. I used to drive a mitsubishi that had fron end damage as result of a slight curb hit, was destroyed after that. After 3 front end rebuilds I replaced it with the VP. No car likes hitting a curb at any speed. I'd be looking at...

    Air Con and Almost Overheating

Same as mine when it did it, partially blocked radiator. Sure the air con turns the fan on, but it also pumps warmer air over the radiator from the condensor.

    overflow bottle

No Worries, I hope it helps. Nothing worse than that gauge creeping up.
  37. fazz1977

    overflow bottle

One is usually enough, unless you have a pressure issue blasting coolant out. I can't see there being any issue with having 10 if you like. I haven't topped mine up in months.

    knocking on cold start

Yeah, sounds like a dodgy part on the reco. 100 octane won't hurt your car. I run mine on Shell V-Power, that's 100 octane.

    just for greenfoam

Crazy colour on that thing. Only ever seen a few like that. None for a long long time. All cop cars here are white, with the exception of those horrible yellow falcons from the 80's, and the new SS highway patrol cars.
