It is possible if your driving it hard. What l/100 is the computer telling you? These engines can be incredibly economical if driven nicely. The computer at least in mine are very accurate also?

Purge valve solenoid might be a good place to start. Common issue

Id try the Purge valve mate, mine was doing the same thing and it fixed it.

My advice, Pay the bucks and get transmission specialist to flush and service. There is a process and its not straight forward.

The part was around $60 (cheap) what you do with it from there is your choice!
