    Closed door respray - cost?

Ok I’ll bite. For a coating or PPF no buffing is necessary unless the paint needs correcting which should not be necessary on a new car. There’s nothing wrong with paint that lasts only the warranty period- not much else lasts longer than that on a modern euro car anyway. And to last the...

SSV Series II vs Redline Series I

Late to the party but having owned both a late ‘17 SS and now a late ‘15 SSV (series II, but not redline) I concur with the above. Basically the same car. HUD on both. In fact I actually preferred the monochrome screen between the gauges over the lame colour screen (red background) on the SSV...

Chinese Android Head Unit Review - $595

Mines a different one than that. Regarding the canbus model paroxysm is asking about, again not OP but mine is set to Chevy Cruze 14-16 (gen 2). Seems to do what I need.

Chinese Android Head Unit Review - $595

I got a similar one, similar price but from a different vendor. The good is that upon powerup I’ve got it going straight into wireless CarPlay, Waze on screen without me having to touch anything on my phone or headunit. No cables or fiddling with any settings. Just get in the car and drive and...

    Exhaust advice - 2.5" down from 3

Plenty of OEM Euro 6 (not 4 or 5) compliant cars out there pushing 600+HP, many are turbo obviously (typically V6 or V8 where each cat is flowing 300HP, but also plenty of 300HP+ 4cyl out there). So clearly it is possible to have a compliant cat that doesn’t pose a restriction. Don’t understand...

Chinese Android Head Unit Review - $595

OP did you have to select a canbus model, or does your settings have this already set up? Can you tell me what car model it is set to?

VF,SSV . Wot value is it having Walkingshaw 407 put on my car and is it worth the money.

Except blower does nothing for character or sound, is more expensive outright, adds more moving parts, more mechanical complexity and hence more risk of long term issues. Down the track when (not if) you have issues, fewer shops understand and can diagnose or fix it- especially the way things...

    Catback installed VFII SSV

Just installed an Xforce 2.5” catback on my VF II SSV sedan and I’m really happy with it. Installed about half the price quoted from several well known installers for manta (actually just dpe) or other 3” systems. The sound is deep and has a really nice note, quite sophisticated and sweet...

Difillipo 3 inch vs Walkinshaw catback

Interesting thread. I like the snap/crackle of the stock VFII but the note is not deep enough or loud enough for me. I know you can delete the middle resonator but I expect that just makes it louder, no deeper? I like the deep sound of the dpe but from experience on VFII you loose basically...

    Lowering VF2 SSV Redline Sedan

In my experience coilovers improve ride immensely. Since I changed to coilovers I havent mentioned it to anyone but had no complaints and even some people have said the car rides well and the suspension has really “settled in”/rides like my [insert German car]. The coilovers are German lol. In...

VF2 SS Redline new upgrades for The Hulk!

Sweet!! Glad it all worked out! The body roll I mentioned is only in comparison to other cars I had which are borderline track cars so take that with a grain of salt. What mm ride height did you go to? I went very conservative at about 380mm, just enough to remove the 4x4 look with 20s but...

VF2 SS Redline new upgrades for The Hulk!

Let us know how it goes. I had a catback di Filippo (Walky 2.5") and pulled it out today, back to stock. After driving out of the shop I was just laughing all the way home. The stock one just has so much character and is just plain fun, sure its a bit farty compared to the dpe which is ballsy...

Engineering certificate for brake upgrade from SS to Brembo brakes ?!

Exactly. Given that an SS is on 245s I strongly suspect traction is the biggest limitation on one off emergency braking distance, not rotor size or pad compound. I question the need to perform repeated 100-0 emergency braking in daily responsible driving (ie. not towing, not tracking and not...

    Superchargers and Annual Safety Inspections?

Sorry by "flat out" I mean accelerator flat to the floor, or close to, in 2nd or 3rd gear. This is approaching the mic. When it reaches the mic they lift off and coast. They take the average over the run. It's more complicated than this but the point is that 77dbA is not very loud. According to...

    Superchargers and Annual Safety Inspections?

Are you sure about this? I don't recall any such requirement stated on my previous car's engineering. It's all recorded on the rego so it can be looked up by anyone official, just like whether or not your rego is paid/valid, since there are no stickers anymore. Greatly simplified, any petrol...

Perma guard paint protection w/ lifetime warranty Y/N??

“fix/repaint”? In other words, if they even accept the claim, they will do a deep cut and polish (which is destructive anyway) to the affected area, and if that doesn’t work someone will repaint the affected area only. Not the “car” (whole car). If the product was good enough they wouldn’t need...

    Another one. Exhausted

Might not be the right thread but didn’t think it deserved a new thread. I was really impressed with the exhaust on my SS except that it was quiet. What I loved was the crackle/pops especially on the overrun. Got a Walky catback (dpe 2.5”) based on sound and reviews but while the sound is...

WARNING LS3 Recall about to happen

I received no letter at all but when I rang the service dept they were happy enough to have the lifters and Hvac done, which supposedly has been done now. I hope they would have suggested to do it at the next service but odd that no letter was sent, let alone the free service offered to others.

Is this a good deal for a gts r

8 grand is 8 grand, and although I’ve only driven one, the stock LSA felt lethargic to me especially given the HSV is heavier- it still needs a tune at least. Sounds like you got the better deal except for cam choice which isn’t a problem with the approach itself?

WARNING LS3 Recall about to happen

Do we think all the letters should be out by now? I haven’t received one yet and my car is slap bang in the middle of the affected date range.

    VF Sat Nav

Got the same email, also new car. Can’t believe they would try to ask to pay for this. I wouldn’t have a problem if they said prior to purchase that they guarantee to always update maps forever for a small yearly fee, but after purchase, asking to pay for an update that may well be the last and...

MyLink audio pitch warbling from iPhone

Yes I have this issue on my new SS, but only on Bluetooth. Since changing to USB I haven’t noticed it. Sorry to hear it’s worse for you though.

WARNING LS3 Recall about to happen

Hi all, this is my first post. Recently bought my first V8, and new to Commodores. Previously had several enthusiast cars. Why is this not considered a recall? If it’s serious enough not to deliver new cars until fixed then surely it’s a safety related issue that requires a recall? What if one...
