VFII SSV Gearbox / clutch issue?

Mine's the same. If I drive it hard then it all comes together well - problem is driving it like that sees the speed limit pass by in 2nd gear! Driving it smooth around town is hard yakka..

    VF SSVR windscreen rattle/squeaks

I used LANOX in late 2017 and the noise has just started to come back on really hot days. I used the least amount I could and have no visible negative affects from using a Lanolin based product so far. For me, a two minute spray job once per year is preferable to having the screen removed.

    VF SSVR windscreen rattle/squeaks

For those wondering how long this lasts - I'm at about 12 months from giving the top windscreen a very quick spray with Lanox and still no sign of the rattle returning. I've done about 8500kms since the lube.

    VF SSVR windscreen rattle/squeaks

Hi Amelia, mine sounded like a dash rattle too. Thanks to this forum I looked closer at the windscreen and was able to partially replicate the noise by pushing against the top of the screen - it takes some force though. Mine also was much noisier in hot weather than it was in cooler...

Engineering certificate for brake upgrade from SS to Brembo brakes ?!

So if I was pulled over or inspected today (or in 10 years time), how would vic roads or the local traffic cop know that the Brembo's fitted to my VF2 Redline are factory? I'll be surprised if they have a reference doc that covers every variant for every car out there. I don't have a letter from...

Replacing VF reading lamp globes with LED’s

I'm no expert in how these systems work, but as per above comments, it's likely a load sensing circuit. A 5W LED will be much brighter than a 5W incandescent globe, so ideally you want a low watt LED coupled with a load of some form (ie resistor). If you use a 1W LED globe, then you need approx...

    VF SSVR windscreen rattle/squeaks

My understanding is the issue is caused by a defective top seal (faulty heat treating), this seal has nothing to do with holding the screen in, nor does it play any structural role. I don't buy that the small amount of spray I use to lubricate the seal will have any impact on the screen bonding...

    VF SSVR windscreen rattle/squeaks

Mine is a Jul 17 build. No issues since applying the spray.

    VF SSVR windscreen rattle/squeaks

I was pretty disappointed to find the issue myself. Some have had Holden pull the screen and reset it. As best I can tell, the issue is normally the seal, which is replaced when the screen is refitted. Some have had a screen not properly bonded from factory. For me, I'd rather run a squirt of...

    VF SSVR windscreen rattle/squeaks

If you read back through the last 10-20 posts you'll read how its done and a photo of how to lift the seal. In short - its the rubber seal on the top of the screen (outside). Lift the seal with a plastic trim tool or credit card and run the spray can nozzle pipe along the top between the rubber...

    VF SSVR windscreen rattle/squeaks

An update for those interested. It has now been about 3.5 months since I sprayed Lanox along the top seal and still no sign of the rattle/noise returning.

QFM HPX and Dba t2 rotors = no difference

Intersting discussion. I suggest that if you can lock up the wheels on a sealed dry surface (or get the ABS to cycle), then you are already getting the maximum possible braking, and stopping power is limited by tire adhesion. Upgrades beyond this will change pedal feel (ie braided hoses...

    VF SSVR windscreen rattle/squeaks

Mine started off being very intermittent, definitely more noticeable in hot/humid weather. I also found that a bit of rain on the car 'lubed' the seal a bit and stopped the noise for a day or two. It quickly got worse and then was always there regardless of temp. Once it got bad, I was able to...

    VF SSVR windscreen rattle/squeaks

TTubrag, your picture describes how I did it - just lift the lip enough to get the spray tube in and run it along the seal. I tried to minimise the amount going in, so did a quick spray along the seal (ie lube not flood). I did not get any visible sign of the LANOX getting past the seal and into...

    Wheel swap

Andrew, the rules/guidelines for nsw are on the RMS website and allow a fair amount of variation. Since 18" wheels were a factory option for the VF there is no problem legally with fitting them, even if not listed on the placard, provided the offset doesn't change the track too much (if using...

    VF SSVR windscreen rattle/squeaks

I can't help with a dealer, but I ended up spraying it myself, which was really easy to do. I used Lanox as I was not keen on putting silicone on the paintwork (just in case it needed respraying in the future). I used the small tube that comes with the spray can and ran it under the top seal...

    2014 VF SV6 - need new rotors ?

My wife has a near identical car (14 SV6 67,000kms) and the rotors only have a very minor lip. The pads still have plenty of life in them (I would expect another 20,000kms) and I'll be replacing pads only when the time comes, unless the rotors wear considerably more in that time. The rotors can...

Thanks Mate, I appreciate your input and comments. I'll get it to Holden and report back in a couple of weeks.

    VF SSVR windscreen rattle/squeaks

G'day Guys, I've been stalking this forum for a little while and thought I'd join in. I have a 2017 Redline sedan with about 2600kms on it. I also have the windscreen rattle/squeak, which developed at about 1500kms. The noise is more noticeable in warmer weather so the issue may have been...
