Your drive shaft is on the correct way around. The centre rubber boot faces toward the front of the vehicle. (thick section to the front - thinner section to the rear. Your son in law (no disrespect) is wrong.

    Almost fixed i hope. Help!

You may have left the earth terminal off of the passenger side cylinder head? Are all the sensors in the front engine cover for the passenger side camshafts fully seated in their holes, and do they have any noticable damage to them? These are the two OR one black sensor in the front engine...

    BONK/CLUNK NOISE VF SV6 automatic 2016

Trouble is you aren't JUST driving along are you. You've stated the donk noise is when you yourself is on and off the throttle. No slipping and gear changes are normal. Some here have stated you may have two concerns, we've suggested the easiest fix, and go from there.

    BONK/CLUNK NOISE VF SV6 automatic 2016

It is NOT a mandatory recall or "flagged" with anything to do with warranty. It was realeased as a TSB (Tech Service Bulletin) only a suggested diagnosis path. This "holden dealer" I'd say isnt interested or has no GM trained service staff left. And if they do they don't have a clue. Which is...

    Noisy L77

Cam lobe and lifter failure by the sounds of the vid. If you have replaced all those items and the noise is still there, remove the drive belt and run the engine for 1min only and see if the noise is still there, if it is you are going to need to open her up and check the lifters and camshaft...

    BONK/CLUNK NOISE VF SV6 automatic 2016

For the metallic donk noise, No. If this gurgling noise is diagnosed by a good mechanic they would check the transmission fluid level and if low top it up with Dexron6 or equivalent compatible fluid. If just low fluid, No. Then if this "gurgling" noise is still there after a fluid level check...

    BONK/CLUNK NOISE VF SV6 automatic 2016

What would happen if not fixed? You would have an irritating noise you don't want. Worst case senario, the transmission output flange maybe working loose the output flange nut with the back and forth movement in the splines of the transmission output shaft, ( high chance it's not as the nut is...

    BONK/CLUNK NOISE VF SV6 automatic 2016

This noise is a metallic donk noise for sure coming from the transmission output flange spline free play. "Glueing" the transmission flange with adheasive (Loctite 272) as outlined in the TSB @NJD-1992 and @Skylarking have pointed out in their above posts will confidently fix your issue.

Best oil for transmission service and oil for normal service

I did a transmission flush @ 1500km complimentary service on my 2020 Colorado. Who knows how long transmissions sit in warehouses waiting to go into vehicles after they've been manufactured. Especially during covid.

Yeah thank @BlackVXGTS I got it going again by getting hold of Adobe Reader 11 and uninstalling the trash new one. Installed 11, added the file path to the trusted files location in the settings and viola, working again.

Behind cabin filter - what is this?

I know this is an old thread, just thought I'd put this up so as to help anyone that wants to replace a broken recirc door with out having to remove the blower housing out of the vehicle. Have used one of Fu's pics of the recirc door actuator location. Some procedures such as glovebox removal...

2007 VE Commodore BCM not communicating

The only way you are going to get it to work from here is a 1 day subscription access to acdelco SPS2 and get security access onto the fake arsed Tech2. Risk it for the biscuit. This is also after the relative diagnostics for the DTC's are followed systematically. It will also depend on the...

What you'd be looking for would be in Volume 5, Section 12P of the VS service manuals Not sure the downloadable scanned manuals have all the volumes. You would also require the VR companion volumes also as Holden did split the manauls up in regards to the electrical info due to similarities...

    Holden Caprice BCM issue??

Think your on to it @Fu Manchu , X157 ground bus bar, the one just in behind the battery bolted to the side of the engine bay. It has about 4-5 earths in a plug which is plugged into an earth strap and the earth strap is bolted to the body. Notorious earth for faults like this. It is the main...

I love this car - but sometimes I think it wants me to hate it!

Yes, as the left over partly drained dyno test tranmission fluid will be full of moisture for sure. Dexron 6 is hygroscopic, ie absorbes moisture. The box could have been sitting for years in storage. They are after all european hand-me-downs.

    Holden Statemans

This is not entirely correct, you will still receive flash codes from the ABS light by bridging terminals 12 and 5 in the diagnostic connector in vehicles with the Gen3 V8 engines....... though not ALL ABS fault codes will be flashed, Codes: 41, 42, 45, 46, 47, 48, 55, 56, 61 and 63 will NOT...
