My Build idea, and questions I need to answer.

Spoke to the engineer about it today, he has no issues what so ever with anything i've planned except for the mini tubs. As soon as I change the rear rails, it has to be fully engineered and complies with the most recent rulings for an individually constructed car, so the tubs are out. The ECU...

My Build idea, and questions I need to answer.

@losh1971 To remove the BCM was just an idea, to limit the wiring etc. I'm not to worried if it needs to stay, I'll find a way to hide it anyway. I want power windows, so I'll need it to operate those etc. @VS 5.0 Shaved door skins would be to fill in the swage lines through the middle of the...

My Build idea, and questions I need to answer.

O.K, so after talking last night to the Minister Of Finance (the missus, for those who are unsure), this is now how the build process MAY work out. This is mainly a father & son build, but i'm sure the missus and my daughter will be there helping along the way. This will be my last build, and my...

    Quality Level. Low buck gun?

Depending on the model, you should be able to get a service kit. We do them for a S1000/2000/4000, about $20+

    Quality Level. Low buck gun?

I used it for atleast 5 years, every day. About 8-10 prime ups a day, never gave me any problems, until I went on holidays and someone used it, dropped the needle and bent it. Got a SATA primer gun, it's such a smooth gun comapred to the Workquip, but quality is alot different. Use the trusty...

    Full vinyl wrap VE

Personally, not a fan, to expensive for what your getting. It happens to tear, it lets moisture in under it, continues to peel, then the rust starts. Old boss of mine got his work vans done, and cost him (he rekons) $10k each, and they were not that great up close.

    Quality Level. Low buck gun?

I know this is an old thread but, when I was apprentice, I used a gravity fed gun called Workquip. Came with 3 tips aswell and that gun got punished big time, lasted for years too. Can still get them, I sell them at work for around $130.

    Need some advise, guys....

I will do a build thread with heaps of pics when the time comes. I believe, if your a car guy, you share your ideas, knowledge with others. This will be a very grumpy V8. I have idea of the build all mapped out in my head, but pointless posting a thread, purely based on an idea, and not actually...

    Need some advise, guys....

Thanks mate. I want to teach him some skills that hopefully could lead him into a trade. He loves cars, and has wanted to work on one for a while now. So, hopefully, he will know how to do some panel beating, welding, metal work, as well as painting. I will be doing nearly all the work myself...

It will be a V8. Even would be border line crazy dropping a V8 into a VR. This car is a project for my Autistic son, and I. Once finished, I won't be selling it, it'll eventually get handed down to my kids. It'll be the last car I ever build, so this will have plenty of time spent on it.

    Need some advise, guys....

Pretty much as Wozza says. Like to be able to choose my own steering wheel, instead of a standard unit with a massive big pillow in it. Might save a life, but i don't plan on smashing it, after it's done :D:D:D.

    Need some advise, guys....

Yeah, looking at them, it'll be near impossible, the motors sit almost right on it. I might have to wait until i actually start the build, mock fit the new engine, and go from there.

    Need some advise, guys....

Planning on building up a VR Commodore. Ground up, inside and out. Have the plans in my head, but was around for a cheap VR, these seem to be getting hard to get. Anyway, i'm in no great rush for the car yet, but has anyone built a flat firewall? I know the standard ones are glued in, but i...
