My friend that does sound like the knock of death. Time for a engine swap or just drive it until it dies. I had one do it and lasted for another 40,000km before it gave in.

I just had a cooling system flush etc at holden and they used red coolant and the pellets.

I just had this problem, It is the little plastic connector from the button the metal U clip. Take handbrake cover off and you will see :) Really annoying and stupid desgin. Holden quoted me $70 for a new handbrake.

It is not actually coming from behind the harmonic balancer but more in the gap just underneeth that where the front of the sump sticks out.

it'll spin for about 1.5meters and then will grab and no more loss of traction on dirt,wet road and or grass.... either foot to the boards or keeping it in 1 on the auto ???... I hope your not doing this on public roads.......
