    I changed the right front break pads because they have a slow speed squeak that's really embarrassing. I also found out that my washer bottle was full of slimy black ooze, so I changed that out. The car still has a issue in the sensors for closed loop but I'll get that fixed eventually.

    Update. Got it! Must have been a combo deal of 2 sensors that tested fine but reading out of range. Was the TPS because the trans shifting nicer between 1st and 2nd now. And I have no O2 lean code now, plus it runs just as nice cold as warm. What a frustrating journey, now time to enjoy driving...

    I robbed a knock sensor off a pre ecotec motor as they are the same part number, took the plug off the block behind the starter.     It's done it with both computers the memcals , it does feel like its pulling the timing but I've check that in diagnostics mode. The only thing I can think of and I'm not sure how to check it but the timing Mark's could be I the wrong spot or its skipped a tooth on the cam chain?

    Its logging a lean O2 sensor The plugs have been done, the leads tested, the dizzy cap is new. I'm leaning away from coil and ignition module because of how well it runs in open loop.

    I'm getting the vats removed off another chip so I can confirm it's not a closed loop tune problem and they'll give the memcal a tick or 2 while in there

    The temp sensor is going to have to come out for one reason or the other. At the moment what it is proving is that it is a closed loop issue. By unplugging it the computer thinks the engine is cold started and runs open loop. I'll check and will post results

    Checked and done. Most definitely lean. Splutters pops, really quite undriveable. If it's cold, hooks up and spins the bags and the engine will rev and is.....well 1996 powerful I'm outside Invercargill

    I haven't replaced that yet, my logic was if it was reading to low it would stay in open loop and run rich, if it read to high they tend to richen the mix to compensate. Do you know the specs for ohms testing these?
