I got a vsiii motor in my vr with the VM prefix but no sign of it being a 195i, I have put in a non original chip in because of vats. Is it worth getting a 195i tune on a normal 5L? Is there meant to be any supporting mods or is it only a tune?

The real annoying part is it looks to be darting from 9-12 degrees if that makes sense, I set it anyway on 10ish degrees and now it hammers in low end rpm, just hate timing as I'm scared too much advance will murder my motor

Hi all, i have just got a vs series 3 ute 5L full conversion, im gonna put it in my v6 VR, my only problem is im being told the ecu will not fit and i cant do anything about it, can someone proove then wrong and tell me what the main diffrences are and how to overcome them? Cheers

Hey all, buying a vt ss, taking the 5L and everything for my conversion, I done brakes, tank, and pump already, so what will I need for the conversion, I know the obvious ones, ecu, loom, auto tailshaft, do I need the bcm? And anything else needed? I'm aware of the ignition module too

Big question if anyone had experience, my vr is duel fuel, runs mint on gas but the spark plugs that's it currently has is slightly hotter, does this make a difference for gas or will the oem ngk spark plugs be fine

it was the plug to the head unit, if u can wiggle the plug even slightly then its not on correct, make sure u really go down in personal and align the dickies with the plug lever, yes it's difficult

Im more so just wanting a nice sounding car and power to smash a sv6 to be completely honest, and i feel like 1k for a crow cam package compared to camming a 5L ill make more power with a 6

A cam will add more then 8-10 kw sorry man, a mace chip adds 8-12kw which i assume u accidentally wrote cam instead of chip haha

I just tapped a inline converter into the head unit but now the head unit and everything in that cluster stopped working but blows air from ac still, fuses seem ok but is there a fuse I'm unaware of?

Any updates on this?

Went to get my ac regassed and got it given back because if wiring, i fixed the compressor wiring but now it still wont turn on, relay/fuse is ok, im aware that it may not turn on because it has no gas, but the little green wire connected to the compressor isn't getting power on the volt meter...

Yeah bro, my main issue is the manual bit, i have no idea what v8 gearboxes are out there, or if the v6 factory manual will cost me more money to sell then a 8

Im thinking about putting a 5L in my vr, but im tossing up as i have a manual v6 (loom and ECU) with heaps of cash put into it and a $600 clutch, so i dont know if i should put a v8 in as idk what will cost me more in the future and what is actually fatser, also some people say a v6 clutch fits...
