    Vt-vx rev hang RESOLVED!

update - Issue has been fixed! Cause- Holden's VX V6 Manual factory tune has a throttle follower. This adds IAC steps when coming off the throttle. (Rev hang). Fix- Edit the factory manual tune (more info below). There is probably a guide on here as well but here's some links to what I...

    Vt-vx rev hang RESOLVED!

I WAS RIGHT! to test my theory I drove the car until it was at operating temp and disconnected the IAC (whilst car was running) which meant the IAC was now stuck in idle position (800-900rpm roughly) (yes that’s still a little high) and the rev hang is now GONE! Drives exactly how it should...

    Vt-vx rev hang RESOLVED!

See the thing is, my last vy was dual mass and it didn’t do this at all. It’s like Holden retuned the “anti-stall” on the VYs. I will carry out some further tests to prove this is a IAC tuning issue

    Vt-vx rev hang RESOLVED!

So I ended up doing valley gaskets over the weekend and decided to clean everything else up whilst I was at it. IAC was covered in thick black soot/oil/sludge and so was throttle body. Cleaned everything up replaced IAC and TPS. Still rev hangs! Grrrrr Looks like it’s a tuning issue as I’ve...

    Vt-vx rev hang RESOLVED!

Did some investigation today. My theory is that the IAC isn’t closing fast enough when letting off the throttle. It makes sense because when down shifting, your foot is already off the throttle and the IAC is already in the position (meaning no rev hang) Whereas coming off the throttle it has...

    Vt-vx rev hang RESOLVED!

Yes, confirmed factory manual. M35 stamped on compliance plate. I also need to do the valley gaskets on the weekend so I will clean everything else up during that. Don’t have access to any scan tools so unable to scan for codes. Could possibly try bridging pins 5 and 6 for flash codes

    Vt-vx rev hang RESOLVED!

Recently purchased a factory manual VX S pac. Unfortunately once again I have come across the dreaded ‘rev hang’ between gears. I’ve read through every thread in here and no one seems to have a confirmed ‘fix’. A lot of people dismiss the problem altogether blaming it on the dual mass...

VT - VX ignition barrel removal

Hey guys , had a look at every post regarding this but I'm still having some trouble.. I have removed the switch on the left and indicator switch and can see the hole that needs a pin in it. However the hole is blocked by the actual barrel and it won't move when I switch ignition to on position...

    Vx engine swap question

Doesn't the VY motor have a different shape sump or something that prevents it from fitting in the vx frame?

Manual Vu 2001 issues please help!

@immortality Just purchased an ECU from @MACE for $280, very good people to deal with so far! I have additionally requested them to disable the revs from hanging when Changing gears which is a stock feature in the vx / vu designed to save emissions blah blah blah but makes it crap to drive and...

Manual Vu 2001 issues please help!

@_R_J_K_ So is the memcal a removable chip that's plugged into the ecu? So basically they would send me a new chip with the manual tune and all I'd have to do is install it into current ECU to avoid security issues ect?

Manual Vu 2001 issues please help!

Hey guys, long time viewer first time poster. I recently picked up a 2001 Manual VU and have been slowly fixing it up. It has 288,000km so it's almost on its last legs but I'm fixing her up as much as I can. I'm having a problem with the revs dropping very slowly with the clutch in and in...
