ok ppls.... need some advice asap... Changed the alternator, and the tensioner.... still same ****.... took off water pump... it was fine Now the weird thing is that when u run the engine withe belt off the noise goes away... which leads me to think its something connected ot the belt...

changed the power steering pump to the stock one... no change... got myself a s/h alternator.... no change.... definetely not coming from the water pump... took off tensioner pulley.. bearing is fine.... one thing left that it may be the tensioner itself???

yup. bosch spiral cores are wat u need..... been running them on a ecotec on gas with no probs..

well its lookin like a fuked bearing or stuffed p/w steering pump ran the engine with the belt off and the noise went. seems to be comin from the power steering pump which i just changed... gonna get it exchanged and hopfully that will be it....

just buy a chrome tip got one for $20.00... measure where u want the tip to sit and then cut the exhaust back with a angle grinder, slip on tip and either screw it in to the exhaust, clamp it or tack weld it.... took me 10mins to do...

yep that was the one top right and bottom right directly above eachother....... not as i said in my above post of top right bottom left... i just get a short out on the ignition fuse....:ranting:

:bang: tried to do a fault check... as i was aware is was the top right and bottom left pins that had to be shorted to be in test mode..... the **** fried the ignition fuse.... anyone know the correct pins?? found another small leak on the fuel line near the pump... fixed...

found a small leak in the return fuel line just as it comes of the rail... just cut back the hose a bit and shes sweet... but she wasent leaking that much that it would cause a massive amount of fuel loss...:ranting:

Just went undet the car again and checked the fuel lines, tank, pump, fuel rails, regulator, injectors, all pipes not a single leak not smell of petrol... and then i had a good whiff of the exhaust and it was smelling pretty rich... but no black smoke at all... havent been able to do a...

well thats the thing .. car runs fine.. no probs.. all power is there....

cars a 6... stock map as far as i know.....it didnt drink petrol when he bought (4months ago)... its just a sudden things thats started happening...

im gonna have a look over the lines tommorow. btw its a BT1 if that makes a difference....

exhaust smell isnt rich.. doesnt miss willl change it if all else fails.... its called depressurizing the system before u flong the hose off... :thumbsup: I learnt the hard way....

Hi... Big problem... My bro's car is drinking an enormous amount of fuel.... lets just say 15 litres of fuel is gettin him about 40km's.. and thats with very light throttle. no theres no obvious fuel leaks on the tank or on the lines and the exhaust is not smoking as to say its running...

yup... tank needs to be dropped to replace the two hoses on top of the tank... on the VS its a bitch to plug the pipe back in ... ive droppped the tank out twice now.... its at least a hrs work for a workshop if they know what there doin... do it urself in 2... 4 bolts and a few hoses and...
