    VZ Idling Vibration

Yeah you can get the stuff I'm not sure how well it works though, it's a temporary fix if that's the issue once i come into a bit of cash I'll replace the hoses etc. You're a champ!

    VZ Idling Vibration

Hi thanks I will definitely go over everything and double check, it all seemed fine but better to be safe! I replaced both boots again for the rwc, so they're basically brand new and are intact. Though the hoses look a little leaky so I'm probably gonna top it up and bleed it with some stop...

    VZ Idling Vibration

As above my car has recently started vibrating and almost groaning at idle, it might be there when accelerating but it's hard to tell over the actual engine. The weird thing is that you can only hear on the inside of the car, if you pop the bonnet the engine sounds as though it's running fine...

    VZ noise

Yeah man it's crazy, looks like a bitch to get to. Luckily I double checked everything and it seems to have gone now, I bled the system this morning and it ended up taking like 4l and replaced the radiator cap and took it for a hour drive and it didn't overheat once and the noise is no longer...

    VZ noise

Damn Holden, yeah I've looked it up, what a shitty spot for a thermostat haha. Guess that's next weekend booked up hopefully that'll fix the problem
  7. Bardy-II

    VZ noise

Thank you, maybe I'll source one from the wreckers just to see if that's the issue before splashing out then. Easy enough to replace?

    Timing chains have been done*

    VZ noise

Hey, I've just started getting this problem with my VZ wagon, it has been overheating within minutes of driving and I have checked the hose clamps all tight etc, coolant levels hoses and whatnot. I have attached a video of a sound the car is making once the engine is shut down I'm praying it...

    Intake Manifold

No I know there's the two engine covers but there's a black intake manifold also that's identical to the VZ, unless that whole thing has a cover but I found a few in the wreckers I'll take a picture BC I'm not retarded it's not a cover
  11. Bardy-II

    Intake Manifold

Hey guys, I'm just wondering whether or not you can chuck the black VE upper manifold onto a VZ without any problems? Looks cooler wouldn't mind the switch up! Doesn't seem like it would make much a difference providing all the bolt holes line up etc!

VZ EVAP Purge Hose and Solenoid

Yeah so P0300, P0302, P0304, P0306 All signs indicate to timing chain so I've heard I just don't wanna splash out without exhausting all other possibility first?
  13. Bardy-II

VZ EVAP Purge Hose and Solenoid

Haha yeah I've ruled out a fair chunk of it from the earth wires to the fuses to bigger stuff like injectors, sparks etc! Done more diagnosis on this than I've ever done working!! Yeah I'm kinda thinking maybe just take the rocker off on that side at least and see what the go is, but gonna...
  14. Bardy-II

VZ EVAP Purge Hose and Solenoid

Yeah I think that's gonna be the next try, if not then i'll have to have a closer look at the chains. If you pull the rocker cover off can you generally tell if the chains are stretched or not really? Like is the play noticeable?
  15. Bardy-II

VZ EVAP Purge Hose and Solenoid

Hi Fu yeah car is all up to date did a major on it just after buying it, fuel filter, oil the whole lot. If it was a fuel restriction its more likely that it would effect both banks though?
  16. Bardy-II

VZ EVAP Purge Hose and Solenoid

Hey man have been away thanks for the response! The misfire is constant on 2,4 and 6, the rpm counter fluctuates at idle which makes me think it's a vaccum problem on that bank, so far have replaced sparks, switched coils bank to bank, switched injectors bank to bank, replaced manifold gaskets...
  17. Bardy-II

VZ EVAP Purge Hose and Solenoid

Yeah okay sweet maybe i'll go down and chuck a tank of premium in just to rule it out! Yeah it's **** stuff but it says E10 compatible so I thought yea why not she'll be reet but she's not :')
  18. Bardy-II

VZ EVAP Purge Hose and Solenoid

Hey everyone, so after months of painful diagnostics I still haven't been able to source the misfiring problem on my VZ, after pretty much rebuilding the top half of the motor there's only a few plausible causes left and I was wondering if this would be one of them? Also curious that the last...

    VZ V6 Commodore starting issue

Test your alternator if your battery turns out fine, seen it happen a few times and it doesn't always chuck a DTC. Faulty batteries/alternators wreaks havoc on interior electrical functions!

    Multicylinder Misfire

Hey guys, was wondering if I could nag you again, so I've switched out the manifold, all tight no vac leaks, I even switched the injectors from one side to the other just to rule that out, but I'm at a loss Still misfiring on 2,4 and 6? I'm literally drained the last options would be the cat...
  21. Bardy-II

    Multicylinder Misfire

As mentioned, somehow previous owner has managed to literally chip a chunk out of the manifold, so in the process of replacing. Still not sure it'll solve the misfire as it's on the opposite bank but we will see.
  22. Bardy-II

    Multicylinder Misfire

Yeah okay, only reason I have to do the lower gasket is because I have to replace that block due to the chip, half the thread has somehow been chipped off the rear left corner so the upper manifold bolt will not tighten, hopefully i'll be able to remove it not to difficultly, gasket is only...
  23. Bardy-II

    Multicylinder Misfire

I know it has a few bolts, but what do you do with the fuel rails and wiring loom can you just push them to the side and pull the manifold out? I've been trying to find a video that shows, but they all show removing the upper intake but none of the lower intake!
  24. Bardy-II

    Multicylinder Misfire

All the fuses are dine sitting tight I've replaced them anyway, still misfiring. Noticed that the back manifold bolt isn't tightening due to somehow (???) The corner of the manifold has like chipped off and so the bolt just spins Gonna go to wreckers and get a new manifold and plenum because...

    Multicylinder Misfire

Awesome thank you so much, might be the problem, willing to try anything at this point haha!

    Multicylinder Misfire

I'm gonna nick a TPS clip on Sunday but I'm just having a meddle to see what happens until then Because even though it still misfires it's not as bad after swapping the coil packs to the other side but the code remained on the same side so that rules coils out and sparks out, MAF is fine, so...
  27. Bardy-II

    Multicylinder Misfire

Yeah so I've done that, to no avail, I have switched a couple of the plugs up, but also ineffective. I've used the scan tool to check the O2 sensors and it's interesting as I think possibly both of them on that bank side have failed possibly causing the misfire? Getting a reading of 0.000kOhms...

    Multicylinder Misfire

Ooh oksy c Oh okay cool so to reset the ECU how would I do that? Disconnect the battery or the PCM plug or?
  29. Bardy-II

    Multicylinder Misfire

So the TPS connector lock has been snapped off so it doesn't lock properly but I would have thought a TPS problem would affect all cylinders not just one bank? Obviously I'm going to get a lock for it regardless I scanned it and it came up with P0300 random misfire then the following 3 codes...

    Air con vacuum issues

Vacuum hose on the back of the motor on the drivers side, has a white cylinder (check valve) on it.
  31. Bardy-II

    Multicylinder Misfire

Yeah I thought the same thing, I'm gonna swap the plugs to the other bank to make sure but it seems so unlikely. Again, got a TPS code but that would surely cause problems all round not just on the one bank? The vacuum hose for the AC vents with the white valve? It came off whilst driving...

    Multicylinder Misfire

My 06 VZ is misfiring on cylinders 2, 4 and 6. As the car starts up you can hear slight popping and misfiring, it then settles and is only really noticeable under acceleration. Was hoping to find some solid reasoning as to why? I've seen other threads but a lot of them go straight to timing...

    VZ Rocker Covers

Yeah I had a scan tool that doesn't work, problem is Holden's are super temperamental on cooperating with scan tools, this one has apparently been tested and works with VZ's specifically, so if it works I'll absolutely share the link as it's a local, affordable option! Hopefully I can get some...

    VZ Rocker Covers

Ah i see the two slight slits in the captive nut, possibly can get it off with vice grips and a screwdriver! Definitely, I'm considering buying some kind of automotive glue to save me having to replace the rocker covers, because then comes gaskets and the bill just piles up. Hopefully the scan...

    VZ Rocker Covers

Same, I trust my own work now. By any chance do you remember what you had to do with yours? Or did you go ahead and do rocker covers? Trying to avoid the costs so might try and pull them off and reattach them myself with vice grips and what not. Actually a lovely car when it runs that's the hard...

    VZ Rocker Covers

You would think it's not difficult, bottom line is if you don't know what you're doing don't touch it unless you have researched it! Now I'm out hundreds and have just bought a pricey scan tool to figure out what is going on! If it's the coil packs I swear I'm gonna riot, because his laziness...
  37. Bardy-II

    VZ Rocker Covers

Yeah I thought the same, seeing as it's all gonna come off again anyway! Just ordered a scan tool that supposedly works with VZ's so fingers crossed I work out what's going on soon and can narrow it down to a coil pack or a sensor or something! This car is actually the worst but I love it so I'm...

    VZ Rocker Covers

So I'm in need of some real assistance. My VZ just out of the blue started misfiring, and I sourced it to the HVAC vacuum line. Reconnected it and took it for a test drive, and the whole car was just making a large humming sound under acceleration, as well as misfiring on and off. I've removed...

06 VZ Engine Shaking during Idle & Drive

Yeah so I found that my vacuum line on the back that controls the HVAC vents had come off, that stopped the shaking slightly however I am pretty sure the damage extended beyond that, as it was misfiring etc beforehand too. Taken off the manifold today to redo sparks and what not and find that...
