As above my car has recently started vibrating and almost groaning at idle, it might be there when accelerating but it's hard to tell over the actual engine. The weird thing is that you can only hear on the inside of the car, if you pop the bonnet the engine sounds as though it's running fine...

No I know there's the two engine covers but there's a black intake manifold also that's identical to the VZ, unless that whole thing has a cover but I found a few in the wreckers I'll take a picture BC I'm not retarded it's not a cover

Hey guys, I'm just wondering whether or not you can chuck the black VE upper manifold onto a VZ without any problems? Looks cooler wouldn't mind the switch up! Doesn't seem like it would make much a difference providing all the bolt holes line up etc!

Yeah so P0300, P0302, P0304, P0306 All signs indicate to timing chain so I've heard I just don't wanna splash out without exhausting all other possibility first?

Yeah I think that's gonna be the next try, if not then i'll have to have a closer look at the chains. If you pull the rocker cover off can you generally tell if the chains are stretched or not really? Like is the play noticeable?

Hi Fu yeah car is all up to date did a major on it just after buying it, fuel filter, oil the whole lot. If it was a fuel restriction its more likely that it would effect both banks though?

Hey man have been away thanks for the response! The misfire is constant on 2,4 and 6, the rpm counter fluctuates at idle which makes me think it's a vaccum problem on that bank, so far have replaced sparks, switched coils bank to bank, switched injectors bank to bank, replaced manifold gaskets...

Test your alternator if your battery turns out fine, seen it happen a few times and it doesn't always chuck a DTC. Faulty batteries/alternators wreaks havoc on interior electrical functions!

As mentioned, somehow previous owner has managed to literally chip a chunk out of the manifold, so in the process of replacing. Still not sure it'll solve the misfire as it's on the opposite bank but we will see.

Yeah okay, only reason I have to do the lower gasket is because I have to replace that block due to the chip, half the thread has somehow been chipped off the rear left corner so the upper manifold bolt will not tighten, hopefully i'll be able to remove it not to difficultly, gasket is only...

I know it has a few bolts, but what do you do with the fuel rails and wiring loom can you just push them to the side and pull the manifold out? I've been trying to find a video that shows, but they all show removing the upper intake but none of the lower intake!

So the TPS connector lock has been snapped off so it doesn't lock properly but I would have thought a TPS problem would affect all cylinders not just one bank? Obviously I'm going to get a lock for it regardless I scanned it and it came up with P0300 random misfire then the following 3 codes...
