Thanks guys, I mean the plastic cover covering the whole light unit. When you wash the car it is the bit you wash. The part that would make contact with a kangaroo if you made contact with it at the front right part of the car. I don't know how else to explain it

I had the same problem about 2 years ago,I lifted the seal and sprayed the silicone under the seal along the top of the windscreen. It worked a treat but came back 12 months later. I sprayed again and it is still good.

As a matter of interest does Holden recommend a service of the auto transmission at any particular mileage or service? I hadn't thought about this but lucky my car has only done 36,000km.

How did you go about getting the GPS updated. Did it cost much?

I would like to know what percentage of ls3 ss owners are effected by piston slap but I guess that we will never know that. Would it be fair to say that less ls3 owners are effected than aren't. I am one that hasn't experienced the problem but I have only done 35000kms and that could change I guess.

Very interesting reading all these comments about piston slap. It seems more common than I imagined. My Ls3 has 35,000km on it and fortunately I have not heard any strange noises. Can someone tell me whether I would have heard the noise by now at 35,000km if I was going to experience this...

Thanks guys for your help, I will use the credit card as suggested. So is it the case that none of you see a problem with the spray mixing with any residue grease that I can't remove? Also, Supercheap have a product called '3 in One Silicone spray lubricant', would that be suitable?
