WK L67 Statesman - Battery light came on, car shutoff, but all good now. Wiring issue?

Checked the + and - connection, all are tight. Still odd that it just went away after. The little indicator in the battery is Green, meaning it's holding charge and doesn't need replacing.

WK L67 Statesman - Battery light came on, car shutoff, but all good now. Wiring issue?

G'day all, I was cruising home in my 2004 L67 WK Statesman today. (138,000ks) when the battery light turned on, and I lost all power to the car. Luckily I was only going about 30k's an hour down a quiet street. The battery light is still on. I turned the ignition off, started the car again...

    8PSI Pulley - just purchased, a nice balance between 6 and 10?

G'day Immortality. Cheers for the response - did you run the 8 PSI (3.6 inch pulley) stock? Did you notice much performance difference between the 6 and 8 psi pulley? I won't be running an intercooler, totally stock.

    8PSI Pulley - just purchased, a nice balance between 6 and 10?

G'day All, Mace Engineering recently got their 8 PSI pulleys back in stock! I purchased one, thinking it'd a good balance between the stock 6 psi, and the 10 psi where you're very much pushing the need for an intercooler. Got a totally stock WK Statesman with the L67, 136,000k's in very good...

[VIC] WANTED: WK Self Levelling rear shock absorbers (Pair)

DESCRIPTION: My self levelling rear shockers on my WK Statesman have started to weep. Wanted some new-old stock if possible. Can't find them at Holden, nor the major suspension operators. ITEM: WK Holden Statesman Self Levelling rear shock absorbers (WH, WK, WL self levelling shockers are all...

2004 WK statesman - weird headrests and alternative headunit? Thoughts?

Just did some comparisons, yes it does appear the previous owner replaced the original unit with the poverty pack headunit - the head units that came in the Statesman's & Caprices didn't normally go totally bad, but the CD changer would fail after prolonged use and many years. Also very...

2004 WK statesman - weird headrests and alternative headunit? Thoughts?

G'day All, Thought I'd share this with you guys out of interest as it's not something I've seen before... One photo appears to be a headrest, where the rear half of it is black leather? The other appears to be a headunit, it looks a bit like the more base model Commodore head unit of the...

WK Caprice - Bent rear bumper - repair or replace?

G'day All, Recently bought a WK LS1 for a steal. Her body is good, besides the significant bend on the bottom left portion of the plastic bumper. Pretty unsightly. The bumper certainly isn't tight fitting, obviously been scraped a bit, but that's not a huge issue. I'm wondering if it's...

    5L40E - Opinions/WhyAllTheH8

Morning All, Looking at getting a 2005 WL with 192,xxx k's on the clock, with the 5L40E transmission, which everyone seems to hate on. Everywhere I read, I see that the 4L60E shits all over it in the reliability sector - is this really the case? I know the 4L60E is a tough transmission...

WK LS1 Caprice - Trans Cooler clarification

So, it's been fitted. Works perfectly fine, started the car at the mechanics, no weird sounds. Though, once the car starts to heat up, it makes a slight "whirrrrrring" noise when I rev the car, not a pleasant noise, sounds a bit like having a blower on it, but not as nice sounding. Any idea...

WK LS1 Caprice - Trans Cooler clarification

AC dryer - cheers. What experiences do you have with the PWR trans coolers if you don't mind me asking?

WK LS1 Caprice - Trans Cooler clarification

Thanks all for your inputs, much appreciated. I've gone with a VY PWR trans cooler - been advised it fits the WK LS1 just fine, makes sense that it should I plan to keep this machine for years - it's cost me thousands to get it up to standard.

WK LS1 Caprice - Trans Cooler clarification

G'day ladies and gents, Wanting to get a trans cooler for my 2003 WK Caprice with the LS1 - now I've got the PWR trans oil cooler in mind, but I've noticed some talk about towing packages for holdens of this model, and what they came with, along with a heap of confusion. my WK appears to have...

    Best *looking* Commodore model?

Just to add... #1 HQ - both the kingswood/premier & statesman #2 WL Caprice - Beats the WK because of nicer tail lights imo. #3 VF Calais

Favourite model of Holden Statesman / Caprice?

I've looked around for this question and peoples opinions, but I haven't been able to find anything. So, I thought I'd make it myself! What was your favourite Model of Statesman / Caprice? I'd have to say mine would be the WK / WL. I reckon it had a whole lot more class than anything from the...

Diff Clunking/Grinding AFTER Diff seal replacement?

Mechanic advised a couple of very minor leaks, that first small puddle seemed to of been from the initial seal change, as it didn't come back, and I've checked everyday, and left paper under the same section. Advised to have leaks sorted at next service.

Diff Clunking/Grinding AFTER Diff seal replacement?

UPDATE: Turns out it was just a loose muffler, knocking against the diff, dunno why the sound became more audible in D & R though. Holden replaced nuts and bots free of charge, no knocking. 100% again. Seems like I beat myself up over nothing, gotta cut back on that. Happy motoring!

Diff Clunking/Grinding AFTER Diff seal replacement?

None at all, as soon as I picked it up it was there, for some reason I thought it must of been normal? Maybe something needed to settle in? Which obviously was total bullshit, but I had it in my mind anyway. You know what else is amazing? They must of heard this noise, thought it was okay, and...

Diff Clunking/Grinding AFTER Diff seal replacement?

Cheers, I keep records of virtually everything. It's a pretty major dealership, they should be able to sort it out hopefully. My main concern is I don't want to fork out my own cash for their **** up.

Diff Clunking/Grinding AFTER Diff seal replacement?

Apologies, should of pressed reply, not comment. Final question below: How long can you drive the car once this issue starts happening? I need to run a few errands, but I'm concerned something is gonna go fkn BANG and then I'll be in a world of ****.

Diff Clunking/Grinding AFTER Diff seal replacement?

Understood, I really hope this isn't the case, but I'm sure your correct. Would it be reasonable to assume, due to their negligence, that I would not have to pay for the rebuild? Doesn't seem quite right if I did. And how much would a rebuild set me back, should I have to pay? Cheers.

Diff Clunking/Grinding AFTER Diff seal replacement?

G'day to you all. I've recently purchased a 2003 WK Caprice with 233,000ks on the clock. Ran like a gem, no odd sounds. Took it to my local mechanic, good reliable guy, stated that the Diff Pinion Seal was leaking -and to get it sorted "sooner rather than later" The week after, I made the...
