Matt's ZB RS-V wagon long term review

Just hang on there DG355 -there is no way the ZB can be better than a VF. Its just not allowed, this thread will get closed.

Matt's ZB RS-V wagon long term review

Lazy dealer to put a car on a front sales yard with such an obvious fault. It’s a new Holden dealer plus a Holden service dealer and it just strikes me as slack and lazy.

Matt's ZB RS-V wagon long term review

My local Holden dealer has plonked a couple of second hand ZB,s on his yard first time in months. One is a 18 VXR at $42990 with less thank 6000kms. One is a 18 RS v6 at $27990 with 40000kms. The RS has an issue I see a lot on RS models. The lower body fairing is loose where it joins the body in...

    Condensation Issue

Tezza. I suspect when Gm sold Opel to PSA that Gm contracted to buy Insignia for Aus and North America. There was probably little margin for Gmh and price of Insignia paid to PSA went up over the 2 and a bit years. Gmh never really marketed it just sold it to fleets and rental car coys. I...

How is your Calais going? Any issues? Oil consumption? Kms? Does it look like you will have a GM service centre in Auckland after Holden ''closes''. I,m sorry to another poster. My side tag shows me owning a LT Zb. Its on my shopping list but late this year. I keep an eye on these forums...

This looks like a gang of VE / VF V8 owners attacking a ZB 4 cylinder owner. The better comparison is SV6 vs ZB 4 Vf 210kw/350nm Zb 191kw/350nm I would lay money out that ZB 4 cyl vs VF sv6 -the zb is quicker -the zb handles better I don't own a VF and I don't own a ZB. I drive turbo 4,s...

SAPOL fleet to move from ZB 2021?

They would have flogged them over a lot of non tar seal roads in the NT. Maybe the v6 zb is a tar sealed road only queen. How is your v 6 going badgerdog. That road down to the Titirangi coffee shops would certainly be tarsealed eh?

6 ZB's left at the Adelaide Outer Harbour dock Storage area

No more cars on boats from Opel. Gm agreed or offered to sell its Thai plant 6 months ago to Great Wall. That’s when the decision to shut Holden down was made 6 months ago. Holden was fxxxd without a Colorado it’s best seller. Who has got proof that’s there’s more Astras and Insignias on ship...

Those same zb,s are $23990 on carsales. Just do it by the time this year end Holden will have moved 16000 zb,s since 2017. More than Ford have sold in models -Escape SA Focus and Endura. You never hear anyone talk about parts issues for Escape/Focus/Endura.

6 ZB's left at the Adelaide Outer Harbour dock Storage area

My understanding is that they are still selling new zb to fleet buyers through 2020 and sales cease towards end of 2020. Private sales cease once they run out of ‘private sale’ stock just to invent a term. How long do rental companies run their cars for before off loading. The rental car...

Yes that's right. Equinox uses same transmission and 2 litre motor. Acadia uses same transmission and same 3.5 motor. And they have sold 12000 plus so far. 12000 is a lot more than other brands models -more than Ford Escape Endura and Focus for example in the last two years. I never see anything...

    Where are the VXR owners?

I sighted a VXR in Rochedale Brisbane today about 1235pm. On the back it had 2 3 badges Vxr on right side Left side had the (is it) HSV motorsport badge and beside it 325. Hmmmm 325kw?

I was parked at a shopping centre car park for half an hour the other day having my 30 minute heavy vehicle driver rest break ( even though I drive a 3 tonne van -that's another story). All the cars that arrived and left were SUV,s. About 8. All but one had a female driver. Got me thinking -have...

Did private buyers buy VF/VF2 SV6? Or was it mainly into fleets on buy Australian made rules? Sure private buyers bought VF/VF2 v8,s. So if fleets were the main buyer of VF/VF2 SV6 Holden rolls on and calls the ZB a Commodore as its market to sell it into is fleets. So ZB has no V8 or tt6 for...

    A bloody good drive

87VLCalais interesting that nz sales of zb have increased year on year. The aussies just haven’t accepted it and I guess GM has sold most of them to rental car coys and it’s own rental co (maven) but in 2021 the model dies anyway replaced by a PSA design. I suspect the real reason that GM have...

    The End of an Era

How many kms are you up to now Badge? And how’s the oil use? Are you just changing the oil every 12000kms. How are the air/cabin filter with that dose of nsw bushfire smoke you got recently. Is it handling the commute to the Titirangi coffee strip ok?

    my new ZB Calais experience

Keep posting on this car Steve. Most people here have the v6 so it is interesting to get your perspective on the Zb 4. What is your fuel use? Did you get the rioja red colour? How is the driver seat for comfort?

ZB to stay in V8 Supercars for the time being

So for all the rumours of GMH pulling out of NZ/AUS it looks like they are staying. They sponsor a lot of sport stuff too, nrl for one. Supercars needs a wider pool of manuafacturer entries. The days of holden/ford/jaguar/volvo/Nissan etc all racing were the best. An XJ Jag 2 door won...

Matt's ZB RS-V wagon long term review

So that’s on a survey of 2 v6 owners we get 11ltrs/100kms. One 4 cyl at 9.7. But the v6 can run on 91 or e 10. The 4 runs on 95. So on today’s Gold Coast price the 6 costs 11 litres of e 10 at 1.58 ltr -$17.38 The 4 cyl is 9.7 litres of 95 at $1.74-$16.88 Not much in it. The v6 has AWD the...

Looking to buy a Calais V Tourer

I agree it’s the value buy in its segments. Why don’t the Police run Zb, s instead of those funny Smallish Sonatas here in Qld and I see Nsw Police Hyundai Sonatas on general duties.

Looking to buy a Calais V Tourer

Yesbenny 66,CarAdvice.com.au reports the industry sales(vfacts) each month. Zb ranging in the 400:600 a month in sales. I think Mondeo will get the chop in Europe it will die. Actually I d like to see a motoring magazine or car website do a comparison of Mondeo 2 litre vs Zb 2 litre. The v6...

Looking to buy a Calais V Tourer

Looking to buy a Calais V Tourer

Big changes coming with ev ,s. Do you know why Toyota can’t supply their hybrid models to meet demand / several month waiting list. What is the reason they can’t meet demand. Is it some component or raw material that’s an issue. What will happen to petrol prices when Ev s arrive

Looking to buy a Calais V Tourer

In 2/3/4/5 years time electric cars will arrive and maybe year by year get to an affordable price. What any ice cars are worth then is a good question. Let’s say you pick up a zb Calais now for 32k run it for 4 years at 30 k per year. It’s worth 6 k at 4 years cost you 28 k over 4 years...

Yeah good points RSV. However my current turbo 4 not a zb 106000 made in Germany no issues whatsoever. Prior car another 4 turbo sold it at 278000kms no issues apart from timing belt brakes shocks. My local auto tranny shop reckoned this gm 9 speed auto is fine. It’s an interesting argument 4...

Thanks for your comments RSV. How does my local independent go with the ZB AWD at 120,000kms? That's whats in the back of my mind. FWD are everywhere -simple mechanics understand it. The V6 revs to a ridiculously high rpm number. Where does it develop its torque. I like to drive on maximum...
