VX SII steering getting stuck mid turn....HELP!!!!!

I would agree with Not An Abba Fan on this one and say that the rack looks like it is starting to give you trouble. Have you had a steering rack replaced recently? If so, you can use the wrong rack from a calais and have all sorts of problems due to the variatronic steering setup. If you haven't...

Was wondering if anyone has fitted a supercharged engine yet into a VY II manual utility or sedan as only seem to be able to locate auto models that have this option and was not available in utility of course? Doesn't look that hard initially except for the PCM and the flywheel assembly!!!

You can ring me for details if you wish on 0412045372 and check my posts under the headings for steering wheel controls. Very easy to do once you know the details. I...

Factory Amp wiring in VTII Berlina

I was searching the other day and found that the rear wiring for the Amp and rear parcel speakers is in place in my VTII Berlina. Once I had connected the Amp and speakers I still couldnt understand why it would not work :bang: . I investigated further and found that the fuse for the Amp has...

    Bendix Advance Brake pads ?????

The black residue is perfectly normal and will not harm your vehicle in anyway. Are you sure the pads were Advance and not the Ultimate range which will definatly leave black brake dust after application? I have used Advance pads many times and usually the brake dust is minimal. You can change...

    Manifold glowing red

I can tell you exactly what the problem is as I came across the same thing on a customers car and I was pulling my hair out for two days trying to find the problem. The car will idle rough and the exhaust manifolds will glow bright orange under revving. Still havent picked it!!! Have you had...

Does the VT Calais Series II 6cyl come standard supercharged?

In fact yes the Series II Calais came standard with the supercharger and in fact the basic Ecotec engine was an option upon ordering it from the factory. Why you would want to order a standard 6cyl engine is beyond me but it was an option and many people who were afraid of the supercharger did...

    excelerator depresses itself

Sounds more like a throttle cable problem, that is binding in the protective plastic casing and therefore as you press down the wires have broken and are binding in the casing. If you remove your throttle cable and work the butterfly on the throttle body by hand and it moves freely with no...

    Traction Control Problem

    VTII Berlina Steering Wheel ?

There are some posts about getting the steering wheel controls to work. oil changed but still not full

Theres a good chance the oil galleries are so badly choked with old oil sludge that the oil has been trapped in the head on top of the rocker arms and will have to drain down to get to the sump. Using incorrect grading of oil will cause this and not enough oil changes are the most common cause.

    VT Fog Light Installation

Believe you me if you want a professional finish then a new or good secondhand bumper is the way to go. The guys who have cut them all say the same things that it is a **** of a job as to get the holes exactly right and the bezels to slot straight in is a very hard job. My advise change the...

    VT Fog Light Installation

You must also purchase a new bumper bar that has the holes for the bezels already cut out. These are generally found on an SS or Calais front bumper. When I fitted the driving lights into my VTII Berlina I also had to replace the front bumper to gain the access holes. The bezels then press into...

can you plug steering controls into vt

Yes you can connect the steering wheel controls into a standard VX headunit. I have installed them into my VT and they work perfectly. 1996 VS Taking 10 minutes to warm up

Yes thermostats can be very critical for a cars fuel economy, especially a fuel injected one. The heater will take longer to heat up if stuck open and by the sounds of things, that is...

    Bloody mechanics

Well no, I would have done the job differently and explained to you from the beginning what you would have received for your money and yes you would have received a written report on the condition of the car as well. Oil Leak

No the injector clean service is just a sellup that the dealership uses to make more money from the customer, the same as the throttle body clean. Rip off mechanics

This is a classic case of a mechanic underquoting a job to get the work and then after pulling the vehicle apart rings you up to get extra work from you. Its not only the mechanics fault but also your own as you already got two quotes and they were pretty close to one another you said. So surely...
