    Things that p*** you off/bug you/annoy you

JC Political Thread - For All Things Political Part 2

In QLD a builder constructing a residential home has to take out Domestic Building Work Home Warranty Insurance with the QBCC (Queensland Building and Construction Commission, formerly the QBSA). The thousands of $$$$$ in premiums the builder pays to the QBCC is of course recouped from the...

    Things that p*** you off/bug you/annoy you

Feed in Tarrifs will never attract GST as that would entail your energy retailer paying you, the home owner, the GST and in turn you would have to forward that GST component on to the ATO. The govt does not miss out as GST is charged upon the on-sale of all Feed in Energy to other consumers.

The Aussie V8's always had the dipstick straight into the side of the sump.

    WAR is getting Close.

The attack on the Iranian Embassy was an attack on Iranian soil. I don't support the Iranian govt but I respect their right to reply and reply they did. Netanyahoo may as well have sent missiles/drones directly to Tehran instead.

    WAR is getting Close.

Israel should just leave it the fcuk alone. They bombed the Iranian embassy in Syria and Iran have responded. So tit for tat, 1 all, call it a draw.

VZ 1 Tonner seat belt replacement

Finally found some time to install the new seat belt today. Better late than never. The new reel assy fitted like a glove in the bottom of the B pillar. The only thing I found was the new supplied bolt that holds the belt hanger/guide thingy to the upper B pillar was too short. I had to re-use...

    EV cars.

It's all a mind FxxxK. I remember when it was a weekly cycle with the cheapest days being Tuesday or Wednesday. then it slowly stretched out to a 2 week cycle, then 3 weeks, then 4 weeks and now seems to be about a 5 week price cycle. This way no one can escape paying the higher prices in the...

    EV cars.

Simply means the amount of excise we pay per km varies based on our choice of gas guzzler.
  14. DavesSV6Tonner

    EV cars.

That is one way you could look at it however if all excise was removed from fuel the govt would have to raise that loss of revenue by another means.. If all vehicles were moved onto a 'per KM' scheme then EV owners couldn't complain that they are being unfairly targeted.......... perhaps?
  15. DavesSV6Tonner

    EV cars.

The fairest thing to do would be to move every vehicle onto a 'per kilometer traveled' tax model and completely remove excise on fuel. Probably not hard to set up automatic reporting and billing for modern electric vehicles that are already connected to their big brother manufacturers but the...

    Rim touching strut

The OP is not filling us in on 'all' the details involved in the chain of events.
  17. DavesSV6Tonner

    Rim touching strut

I'm interpreting that the OP needed one new left rear tyre (single spinner?). Off he goes to a tyre shop but the shop is busy and the OP doesn't have time to wait around, so the shop suggests they remove the rear wheel, put the spare on and they can fit the new tyre when they have a moment. OP...

    Rim touching strut

The tyre shop should have at least told the OP they had moved the front tyre to the rear and put the spare on the front, and why. If the OP had the tyre shop fit the wheel back onto his car after fitting a new tyre to the 9.5 wide rear rim then this issue wouldn't have arisen.

    Rim touching strut

I'm betting the reason will be it isn't mechanically good for your differential to operate with two vastly different diameter tyres. So best and safest thing to do was put the front tyre on the rear axle and put the std 16" Omega spare on the front.

    Things that p*** you off/bug you/annoy you

Microsoft. Because of my impending email address closure if I don't pay The Message Company to host it I created a new Outlook email addy on Friday for my business. I'm not hugely tech savvy so I patted myself on the back for setting it up and getting it to work. Yesterday I added it to Mozilla...

    Rim touching strut

Yes according to what I have read. 245's on the 8.5 and 275's on the 9.5 Well that alone confirms to me the tyre is too small for the rim. The tyre that required replacement, was that on the front or the rear?
  23. DavesSV6Tonner

    Rim touching strut

Judging by the OP's description, the wheel rim is contacting the strut and all 4 wheels have the same size tyres. 245's??? My bet is the OP will find he has one 19" x 8.5" and one 19" x 9.5" wheel on the rear axle and the same combo on the front. I'm betting something like the following has...

    Rim touching strut

I know your HSV wheels were not original fitment to your VE Omega but did the wheel in question come off your car to have a new tyre fitted to it, or was it a process of bought the HSV wheels and had new tyres fitted as and when you could afford them? Just found the following in this thread...

Did HSV fit different width/offset wheels front and rear? OP has inadvertently ended up in a situation trying to fit a rear wheel on the front?

For interest: cut open in tank trans heat exchanger

Every radiator failure we had in the VS and in my VZ have been due to the plastic tanks splitting. Not rubber gasket failures nor coolant tube O rings. To my mind the plastic tanks are the weakest part of current radiator design.

I watched that docco last year. Had never heard of them until then. The world is full of sick cnuts. I will never really understand how people can let themselves be brainwashed by these sickos. Pity the cops can't just go in and rid the human race of the depraved leaders of these cults.

    VE Roof leak

Personally, I would carefully Vee out the crack in the seam sealer with a sharp knife so as to be better able to pack the crack with fresh seam sealer rather than just brush over it.

    VE Roof leak

AFAIK the cabin should still be waterproof with the sailplanes removed. Need someone with a VE shop manual to link to or post up the procedure for the sailplane removal. These plastic parts are easy to damage if you don't know how they are attached to the cabin and how to remove them correctly.

    VE Roof leak

Need to remove the sailplanes from around the rear window to have any chance of finding the leak.
