hey guys back once again lol. Just been thinking about what to do to my Ute next, I am thinking of doing statesman interior/dash etc and thought it’s better off buying a full car for cheap and parting out the rest. Then I thought why not try to find an l67 statesman and do an engine swap too...

Yeah I thought tps too, yeah still does it when manual shifting, I usually manual shift anyway lol. How well would it run with tps unplugged just for a quick run full throttle And manual shifting? I know gear changes wont be good but does it make the car run bad?

Hehe it has no cat anymore ;) was my thought too so gutted it but still no change, exhaust is 2.5” custom straight through with megaflow centre muffler and extractors so I don’t think it has any trouble breathing lol

Yeah that’s what it does, it’ll rev great in neutral, at the start of the trip you can give it some load and I’ll get up to speed quick, doesn’t like full throttle though. then by the end of the trip it’ll keep its speed on a flat road with cruise on but any sort of hills it needs like 30%...

Yeah it’s done 220k, already had the tank and pump out to fix the return line on swirl pot lol so been there getting it out didn’t find it too hard just a bit fiddly, yeah already got new fuel filter put a new one in a couple weeks ago no change

Did you depressurise the fuel system? While the injectors can fail on the vz it is also common for the pcm to fail not triggering an injector.

Exactly as I thought, if it doesn’t come out with the box in the car surely it’ll be so close, should be able to make plenty of movement for it to come out after unbolting mounts etc

I’ll get something to work when I get around to looking at new boxes to build, my vr is a 95 so one of the last ones, finding a box from another series 2 should work I’d imagine, just for a bit of fun with the current box to lower some shift times and stuff I thought why not buy a corvette servo...

I’ll give it a crack once my servo comes and I have cement space again lol, surely the servo isn’t that long, doesn’t look it anyway, might even be able to get the box to swivel to the passenger side more? Though the servo is in the front so won’t do a great deal, I’ll work something out anyway...

Oh didn’t think there was that many variants in the first of the 4l60e’s, I’ll have to get all part numbers and make Sure it’s identical, if not shouldn’t be anything more than some different plugs or wiring? Easy job there. If not I’ll go backwards with a t700 and 808 ecu lol

Yeah it does look tight when I was under there checking it out myself.. if worst comes to worse I’ll probably unbolt the cross members and engine mounts and tilt the box down a bit? That might get the box low enough out of the trans tunnel to get it out. Hopefully.

Yeah only want to do this to my box is because I am going to get a lower kilometre box and rebuild it with shift kit and all the good stuff, just want to play around with this one while it’s in to see what differences they actually make lol, only going to turn it 1/8 maybe closer to 1/4 of a turn

Yeah I’ll probably get another low k box one day soon as mine has a couple leaks and has been thrashed, replace rear main seal and shift kit the box with all those goodies while I have one out. Wasn’t planning on taking trans out for servo, I think I can just squeeze it out, trans got new...

Hey all, another question that has probably been answered before, anyone know where the line pressure torx screw is on the vr auto? Only place I can see is the rear passenger side of the auto underneath the speed sensor plug? And will fluid pour out of there if I take it out? I know this...

Just a chance thing I guess, inconvenient having troubles with new ones but like you said other brands are probably not as good as a working Delphi

Damn that would suck, causes a lot of confusion for people saying they just replaced so and so but now it’s failed again they try to deny their new sensors won’t fail straight away

Yeah true, definitely going to get a new dfi and coils so I know they’re new, cas I’ll probably do when I put in a dual row timing chain and all that Jazz, o2 might get soon too, economy is pretty good, gets bout estimated 650km to a tank in the Ute with my driving lol so o2 shouldn’t be reading...

Yeah sounds like that’s the culprit, don’t think any of the sensors apart from o2’s have been replaced before so might go over them all with some fresh ones anyway

Yeah pretty sure it downshifts okay, I would have been in 3rd waiting for 4th when I noticed it not shifting anyway so let’s hope that’s what it is cause it’s starting to get irritating lol

I have noticed that while it gets at the dead spot that’s sometimes there it won’t shift up no, I have to back off for it to shift or it’ll just keep slowly revving up higher then it usually would

Yeah makes sense, I’ll probably be saved up for a cam and valvetrain upgrade by then so whatever comes first haha. But that’s good to know about the different rockers. Better not get my hopes up if some come in stock somewhere and they’re the wrong ones Cheers

I’ve been on the hunt for 1.9:1 ratio rockers for my vr Buick. I’ve seen on the mace website they are currently unavailable and have been that way forbid quite some time... Are these a discontinued item, made by demand or waiting to be back in stock? Thanks
