Help: What length drive belt for VF 25% underdrive pulley?

Hi guys, I have a VF Maloo and a 25% underdrive pulley but no belt. Just wondering what length drive belt I need? I think the OEM length is 1920mm 6 rib. Does 1900mm work? Anyone got one now that can help :) Thanks

Rear toe links, as mentioned sorts the camber out and enhances the handling due to better road/tyre contact.

    vx ss..a lemon ???

VX has better suspension than the VT, so would be a better buy.

VE SSV - what can be done?

Yeah a tune is virtually impossible to detect with standard tools. You have to read out the calibration and do a bit by bit compare or equiv. As long as its done well it wont be detectable. (ie no codes, SES light etc)

    Auto Or Manual

Get the trans tuned to shift faster and harder especially if its stock, the difference will be like day and night. You wont get a manual shifting any faster and consistently.

Question on VY2 SS Gen111 Exhaust sizes.

You guys need to take a look at this http://www.popularhotrodding.com/enginemasters/articles/hardcore/0505em_exh/index.html Backpressure sucks end of story. You do want velocity and scavenging however as has been mentioned. They key is in the Headers. The cats should be designed to act as a...

    LS1 Edit question

Yeah which is why I mentioned "depending on what you have now". Sure headers etc will take you all the way. A catback is the main thing to get for gains. You can definitely improve on the HSV tune, but not by much, its pretty good really. Maybe at WOT the fueling can be improved, timing is...

    LS1 Edit question

Why not consider buying efilive or something, you have access to HSV 285KW tunes that will go right over the stock 225KW VT2 tunes and gain you 60KW, plus you get to keep the tuning tool for hours of fun and pulling codes. So in summary you can get 60kw depending on what you have now. As...

    Dart It!

Ive got a set, seem fine. They have a lot of potential and as cast are pretty good too. They have less piston to valve clearance than stock due to increased valve size however. Id go for the 225cc ones.

Larger Rims on My VTS Stocks

It will be out maybe by 5% or more. You need someone with a tune tool like efilive or hpt. Most speed shops will sort it out for you. Shouldnt cost too much.

    LS1 Flash Tuner

You can also download HSV 300kw and 285kw tunes from www.holdencrazy.com Hey you can even flash the 285kw hsv tune in your car if you have efilive. Means even if you dont know too much you can turn your car into the same as an hsv 285kw vyII! Even more benefits are there if you work at it...

Another LS1 mod thread but this time for HSV

If you log MAP under WOT you will see an OTRCAI allows best airflow and will give you better manifold pressure than the stock intake, on that basis alone its worth it. It beats the stock intake by around 3Kpa.

How hard to change belts on LS1 ?

Not sure on the aircond one. I can check the service manual and post back. Some crowd imported a few HSV's a couple of years back. Plus Vauxhall now sell the monaro (till they run out) then the new VE stuff. Also there are a few personal imports.

How hard to change belts on LS1 ?

Its easy dude. You need maybe a 15mm crescent, just haul on the tensioner, it moves sideways. Loop the belt over that first and haul on it when you are fitting it over the water pump. Its easier than messing with it on the tensioner when you are hauling on it at the same time. As for which way...

    VX mods exhaust and induction

SSI = SS Inductions. 3" Exhaust should be fine, but might be louder than you want. Main point is to maintain velocity. Any backpressure is bad. So dont overdo the exhaust from headers to expansion chamber / resonators or you will lose velocity and hence scavanging. As Kill said, chat with the...

    VX mods exhaust and induction

Forget SSI Stuff. For stock engine you dont need more than 2.5" exhaust. Id go with 1.5/8 or 1.3/4 headers (larger for future mod insurance) try-y or 4 into 1 doesnt matter much though tri-y have a little more mid and bottom end. As for tuning consider buying efilive or similar and tune...

    LS1 Tune files.

Mucho experience as I run it myself. You can DL the full version of the software from www.efilive.com to play with and look at the tunes on the site above etc. You just cant connect to your car without the hardware part. Ive helped a few people out with minor things like diabling vats, replacing...

    80mm Throttle Body BBK

Stock intake is like 76mm anyway, so no point getting anything larger than that. What does happen though is that the throttle blade, shaft etc are partial restrictions so a slightly larger one allows the full diameter of the intake to flow the air through. You can port your own TB and get very...

    LS1 Tune files.

If you are pretty well stock you might be fine. As mentioned if your cars varied you need to QA the tune. A mailorder tune is a guess anyway. Best thing is to get a tuning package and use it as a baseline if its close or just throw an HSV tune in even better. Take a look here for hsv tunes...

    gen3 manifolds?

VX definately has it. I think all models but not 100% sure. LS1.com.au has the part numbers so you can check, I think the number is in plain sight on the drivers side.

    L76 Exhaust Upgrade

Single 3.5 has slightly better flow than dual 2.5's due to less friction. Talk to greg at sureflow. Id be buying this system over a 2.5 myself. As for headers it depends on what you want. For area under the curve go try-y. 1.5/8's maybe. For max peak power for track or dyno go 4 into 1, maybe...

    Explain MAFless tune

Not the only reason, the intake is only 75mm too, another main reason is that the maf max's out at 511g/sec of airflow, the PCM wont "see" more air than that as read by the MAF. I also mentioned gutting the maf so it was a straight piece of pipe and no longer a restriction. Of course it all...
  30. R

    Explain MAFless tune

Ok cool. Just gut the maf leave it in, but disconnected, or connected, but disabled in PCM. Nobody will be any the wiser.
  31. R

    Explain MAFless tune

Ive seen the tune, so I know there is no rocket science there. Im aware cam and heads are slightly different, though I wouldnt imagine too much else was changed. I would have thought a mafless tune would pass all emissions requirements. Unless one of those reqirements was that the vehicle cant...

    mafless tune fuel eco

Shouldnt be any difference with a good tune. You might be thinking of an open loop tune, which ignores O2 feedback. This means you can lean out the fueling at idle and low load conditions as well as the usual motorway lean cruise the pcm does on holdens. IMHO an open loop mafless tune is best...

How Good is an Edit Tune

The "backing off" you feel in the trans is torque management. The PCM pulls timing during shifts to smooth out the changes and help the trans last longer. You can remove it and have the car go sideways on the 1-2 shift if you like that sort of thing. Just ask your tuner.

    Speedo/Odometer recal for Miles

Thanks guys, you are of course both correct. Speedo and Odometer work fine, just with adjustment to cell H0105 in efilive. I checked it over 80km today. Odometer counted up 50 (miles).

    Speedo/Odometer recal for Miles

Hi all, Im London based and I have a y2k R8. They were imported here with an electronic device which alters the speedo and odometer to read in Miles. It died so I bypassed it and changed the PCM to pump less pulses to the speedo, so it now reads in Miles ok. Problem is I think Odometer is...
