Fault code P0172 and ticking sound in VE 3 Lt V6

Thanks Jeda. It's not done it since I cleared the fault code. Yes, ignition was off and key out, that was the strange thing. Might get the battery checked when I can,it's probably getting close to replacement though the car starts fine. It sounded like an electronic ticking sound for about 30 sec...

Fault code P0172 and ticking sound in VE 3 Lt V6

No smell of fuel or wet exhaust Anthony,I cleared the fault code and now it's fine....for the moment. The ticking was weird though, not a valve, more like a ticking solenoid or something.

Fault code P0172 and ticking sound in VE 3 Lt V6

Hi Folks. I had a p0172 fault code( system too rich, bank one) come up for the first time yesterday in my 2010 be 3 Lt. Engine warning light stayed on,and running fine. Of concern was a constant ticking sound coming from the engine- top, drivers side, even with the ignition turned off. I'm away...

Hi Folks. My 3lt 2010 VE Commodore had the plugs and coils done at 80,000 KMs. What is the usual service life of the platinum plugs ?My car now has 147,000 and just wondering when to consider the replacement with the same plugs or go with Iridiums ? Also is it worth considering a oil catch can...

Normal oil consumption-. 3 Lt VE ?

Thanks for that, not sure what's in it since the last service,Penrite, but not sure what weight or type. What oil would you suggest for these engines ? Had planned on using the Penrite Synthetic HPR5.5-40w at 10k intervals, not 15k.

Normal oil consumption-. 3 Lt VE ?

Probably about 500ml per 5000 km.Have not had the car very long and it's due for fresh oil in a couple of thousand KMs.Not sure what oil it has in it but I'm a fan of Penrite Synthetic,so we will see then I guessing.

Hi Folks. I'm new to Commodores and have now a ve sportswagon...120,000 km on it. Bought a manual and it seems the diff oil never gets changed as the manual says ....:sealed for life's ,go figure ? Is this true ? Also considering a transmission oil change before the 150k mark using Penrite...
