    Leaking rear diff

My RSV wagon needed a new pinion Seal (or whatever it is called on the Twinster). It took the dealer a while to get the parts, but it was only in for the day once the parts arrived. Of note is that the oil had degraded a couple of bushes and these were also replaced (later on, after the parts...

    AirCon Leak, and warranty woes

While paying for parts when your car is under warranty isn't optimal, if I was desperate for A/C i'd source the parts myself and suppy them to the dealer. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/254604777841 The above is one example. I'd call around the other wreckers that have ZB's and see what they could...

Volt guage / no sound when iPhone is connected

I occasionally see the same audio issue with Android. If I recall correctly, on one occasion I had to unplug, stop/restart the car, and plug back in again to rectify. I find that plugging in after starting the car keeps the glitches at bay. Regarding your voltage issue, I have never seen mine...

    LT / RS seats compatibility

I'd imagine the RS seats would fit just fine. They dont have memory though. Once again, only Calais V and VXR have memory seats.

RS side skirts and boot lip spoiler

The attached photo shows what lurks underneath the side cladding on the Tourer wagon. Dont know if RS skirts are the same. Also, I dont think the RS gets LED headlights. Only Calais V and VXR I thought.

    Towing?

Max weight on ball is 90kg i believe, which doesn't gel well with the 10% rule of thumb. I also think the 9 speed auto would hunt a lot, and relative lack of torque down low wouldn't translate to a relaxed towing experience. Just my opinion though.

    VXR Brake question/issue

I'd imagine the dealers should know about it. I cant find any official reference to it but it's discussed here extensively. https://buickforums.com/forums/threads/front-suspension-noise-looking-for-similar-experience.49726/ When I took mine in I described it as a brake noise and they pegged it...

    VXR Brake question/issue

Unsure about the clips (unable to check as not at home). My RS-V displayed the same symptom. Ended up requiring new front control arms. Seems to be very common on the Commodore and Buick. Took a while for the dealer to source parts but I've had no issues since they were replaced.

Apologies, the above seems to be the sedan, not the tourer.

    Bought a ZB

Some of them we've seen recently give the impression they are bestowing a privilege. The guy at South Morang was quite pleasant.

    Bought a ZB

My dad was a car salesman for a little while, many decades ago. His tales of the salesmanship they employed leave the current crop looking like absolute amateurs.

    Bought a ZB

Interesting what you say about having to wait being a sales ploy, I didn't recognize that at the time. We were probably too busy laughing at his justification "sorry, so busy, busloads of customers today" Lolz

    Bought a ZB

Brighton Holden was the closest dealer with the cheap RS-V's, and even still it was a 50 min drive to get there. At that stage we had never driven one and were keen to have a go. Initially we found the RS-V firmer and louder than we'd expected and asked him if the Calais was a bit softer. He...

    Bought a ZB

It's amazing the difference from one dealer to the next. We tried the Holden dealer in Brighton first. We waited 45 minutes before the salesman was free to see us, and after a short drive he said words to the effect "no fat on these cars, we won't move on price". The dealer we saw the following...

Looking to buy a Calais V Tourer

Na I totally get it, it's just something I need to wrap my head around and comes to terms with. I'd hate to not be happy with the car in a year or two and it's impossible to sell. That's understandable. I suppose the way I view it is this :- Buy a $60000 car and sell it after 5 years for...

Looking to buy a Calais V Tourer

To be honest the car ticks all the boxes for us, the only thing putting me off is the terrible future resale and the fuel consumption. I'm not having a go, but expecting $20000 off the RRP and then expecting good resale seems a little unrealistic. The massive discounting due to poor sales is...

    A bloody good drive

In my experience, Aussies tend to make up their mind first, then look for "facts" that support their preconceived views. Its lack of popularity has worked in my favour though, I got a brilliant wagon for a bargain price. I could never have brought myself to shell out $50k for any car.

Looking to buy a Calais V Tourer

For what it is - a 235kw V6 in an 1800kg car - I've found it surprisingly good. A recent trip up the Hume HWY, 4 people and gear sitting mainly on 110 saw an average of 7.3. For our day to day driving, our Ford Focus had a long term average of 8.5 on 95 octane, the RS-V is sitting on 9.5 for...

Looking to buy a Calais V Tourer

It is a great sounding 6, and it was an attractive trait . On occasion though, we are finding it a bit raucous. Its more of an observation than a negative. You are right on with the active exhaust though. Overall, we'd buy again with no hesitation.

Looking to buy a Calais V Tourer

Hi G_C. We bought our RSV wagon a few months ago @14000kms. Now with 21000km on the odo. For us, the decision to buy was made easier by what we saw as a lack of alternatives in a reasonably quick, largish, non-fwd, non-suv wagon. Positives ? - Excellent highway car, very quiet, excellent...

Matt's ZB RS-V wagon long term review

https://www.fitmycar.com/au/holden-commodore-wagon-zb-2018-current-boot-liner-fmc/28793 There is this one, but I don't think it suits the V6 with its battery in the boot.

There is a cargo liner listed on the accessories page for the wagon. Though I suppose being Holden, just because it's listed it doesn't necessarily mean its available.

Matt's ZB RS-V wagon long term review

Oh,ok. FWIW, the presets just move the bass, mid and treble sliders around to different settings. It doesn't do anything to improve the slightly average sound.

I dont think so. The EQ they refer to in the manual and on the Opel page is the preset modes on the tone control page - Talk, Rock, Jazz, Pop, Country, Classical Custom.

Matt's ZB RS-V wagon long term review

Even though the info here https://globalpressroom.bose.com/us-en/pressrelease/view/39 Is a few years old, I believe it is basically the system that is in use in the Commodore. It suggests that the equipment required for the noise cancellation - a 6 channel amp with DSP- also manages the sub...

I admit I didn't pay much attention to the construction. In any case, its not an especially impressive unit. Cant find any detail using the part number.

Matt's ZB RS-V wagon long term review

The boot speaker is the 8th speaker. I think its been kneecapped at the amp for sone reason. Its the same dual voice coil woofer used in every other "spare tyre sub" arrangement. For some reason, either a fault or deliberate, its not being driven by the amp.

Matt's ZB RS-V wagon long term review

When connected there is no sound or even vibration during playback, so it makes no difference when disconnected. I haven't had a chance to drive the car with it disconnected. I'm not expecting it to sound much different either.

Matt's ZB RS-V wagon long term review

Opened it up it contains a DVC 5.25 " woofer. According to info here:- http://globalpressroom.bose.com/us-en/pressrelease/view/39 It seems to operate as a sub and as a noise cancelling speaker ?? I guess I'll have a look behind the load area trim pieces for an amp next. Hopefully someone more...

Thanks Benny, can't argue with that. I'd forgotten what a pleasure it is, dealing with Holden and their shenanigans.

Matt's ZB RS-V wagon long term review

According to the features list at the bottom of the brochure, the RS-V is supposed to get "8 speaker stereo with subwoofer". The 8th speaker is the sub, supposedly. The there is definitely a Bose branded unit mounted above the spare.

Gday Jimmy. We bought ours about 8 weeks ago with 14000 km. First up, the parts required to fix the control arm issue on ours took nearly 6 weeks to arrive, the work was completed neary two weeks ago and have had no more issues. Regarding the Iphone charging, from browsing the Buick Regal forum...
