Do you need any special tools to remove the rack end?

Hey, Need to replace right hand, rack end and tie rod end as the title says. Its fucked/bent Got any advice or how to?

Hi, has anyone used these on a commodore? are they any good? I'm guessing you can't you adjust the rear?

No I haven't got them yet but I've seen commodores with this setup and like the ride height so that's what I was looking at and don't have a comparison in other setups..

Hey guys, Looking at lowering my VY commodore on 19s I was thinking Kingsprings SSL front and SSSL ultra rear, What do I need new shocks and or new struts? what else should I replace why I'm there? Also will that be lowest legal height? Any other suggestions?

hi, so I've check forums seems to be pretty common problem but no solutions so thought I would mention, I just changed the alternator once job was done I noticed my low beams don't work but they work when I put high beams on. I've checked fuses, relays, bulbs, switch is engaging when I flick it...

anyone figure this out I have same problem, checked all fuses and relays checked bulbs. High beams work lowbeam works when I have highs on.

Yeah I'm not so worried about the cost as its a project car anyway and will be done over time. I'm thinking T56 and stroking it first with forged internals then later on add PCM from LS1, Garret gt3540 turbo and intercooler and twin surge tank. .

So after some more thought and information you guys have provided. I'm thinking of stroking my ecotec to 4.2l and then go turbo with a T56 manual and short shift kit.

Hi, I would like to convert my VY into a L67 manual. Ecotec in it has 175k on the clock. Problem is I'm finding it really hard to pick up a factory VY L67. I would like to get a manual box with the L67 and loom etc if I can But if not I guess I'll have to buy a manual box with loom conversion...

They will just claim "thats just how it sounds" he basically said as much to me, But did notice the sound and put it back up on the lift to try and wield a support piece on it. Didn't fix the problem then told me "he's fitted lots of them and never had anyone complain when they sound like that"...

they supplied and fitted the system. already been there once to talk about what he can do to fix the problem, basically he just wants me to put more money into it..

Muffler mad browns plains. Not sure if they installed pre-built or custom mad.

I did they wanna make me pay $120 for new y piece "that might fix the problem" or $360 for two high flow cats...

Yeah kinda sounds like a loose gasket vibrating. what is a baffle plate never seen one, where is it located?

Yeah its not the "sound" of the exhaust per say, it sounds great coming out the back, just under the car around the cat it sounds like a tinny metal vibration. It has a muffler on the back near tips.

You can hear at about 1.17 sounds like lose gasket/metal vibration, the last rev you cant hear it, but coming up onto the ramp you can. It has one muffler, its headers into union into high flow cat. I think the union the part with the question mark might be the problem.

Tried to get a video of it, its kinda hard to hear in video with the noise from exhaust but towards the end near the entry onto the motorway you can hear it about 1:19 bouncing off the wall. mostly does it under load. I thought maybe there is something under there vibrating from the exhaust like...

its coming from near the cat somewhere, like around the Y pipe or the union. I took it back to the shop all they said was we can put twin highflow cats on it or change the union... so looking at putting more money into it just to fix their problem...

Hey guys, so today I had full system done, headers into one high flow cat with 2'5" pipe on my VY V6, when under load or if you give it a good rev, it has a raspy Tinny noise, I took it back to the shop and they tried to put a reinforcement on it but didn't change. Any ideas? will the noise go...

I will never use engine flush etc on a motor thats never had it before.

My 2003 VY Commodore is making a vibrating noise when turning the steering wheel when not moving. Power steering pump, or rack?, I did notice abit of oil looking stuff on the boot of the rack under the car? sounds like this

Ok so removed the engine fuse and battery, started perfect first time, no engine light and fans are off, now to change oil and filter :D

well I know for next time, I was really careful putting the manifold back on, but next time I will use it

I did forget to put the thermostat back in fans are always on now.

yeah replaced the inlet gasket it was buggered, huge cracks around the inlets.

my guess is the injecters got abit of gunk on them and it had a hard time cleaning it off, but it seams to start and run ok now. still have check engine though. just bleeding the system atm.

So just started the car today, car wouldn't start, took a few turns of the key once it started was running really rough almost like no fuel or spark plugs around wrong way, but I checked them and they are fine, checked all the vaccum hoses to make sure I didn't miss one, I did pull the throttle...

Ok so you were right, the IM gasket was cracked around the water valleys and have sludge on the bolts etc.... Now I want to know whats the best way to clean the rest of the sludge from the engine.. I don't want to use a engine flush from supercheap or something as I've heard they can do more...

My 2003 VY commodore ecotec has milkshake sludge under the oil cap, top of rocker covers full of it, the dipstick is pretty clean and the radiator, no coolant in the radiator just water, runs fine doesn't miss, does blow some white smoke. head gasket, Blown heads? manifold leak? or just...
