    Done myself a mischief

yeah I already jacked it up, you can physically see inside where the bumpstop would normally be sitting and how the whole thing has shifted across, when I jacked it up it freely slid across the top with nothing to hold the spring in place, springs are roughly 3 months old, never the less the...

    Done myself a mischief

I have quite literally no idea to be honest, yeah at this point I’m thinking of scrapping the car

    Done myself a mischief

So I noticed a knocking in the rear of my car, decided to have a look and found the spring sitting like this, can just about say I snapped my bumpstop off, is that just a straight up write off or can I get a place to legally weld it back on, too scared to move the thing especially in case it...

    Shortened shocks?

Hey guys I’m planning to put Ultra Low springs in my VZ sedan (KHRL-46SLHD) and I’m wondering what shocks I should get, I know I need shortened shocks but I’m a bit unsure on what ones to get or where to get them from, any links to repco, autobarn etc would be amazing or if someone could just...

    Oil on the spark plugs??

Will do, I’m surprised how clean it was under the covers for a engine with 230xxx on it
  6. Brayden3223

    Oil on the spark plugs??

If they were leaking wouldn’t It most likely see where the oil had run down? They were also just changed roughly 6 months ago Funnily enough the engine is running beautifully, no misfires or odd noises coming from it

    Oil on the spark plugs??

Hey guys just got a quick question, I’ve found oil in with my spark plugs across every cylinder, I can’t imagine it’s the best sign, I can’t see any marks to say it came in from above so I’m curious to what could be causing it and/ or what a solution to it would be? excuse the poor quality...

    Few leaks on the vz

Yeah it’s a horrible job that one, you’re doing the whole thing blind, having to find everything by feeling it out
  9. Brayden3223

    Few leaks on the vz

Thermostat will be good, I did thag roughly a year ago
  10. Brayden3223

    Few leaks on the vz

Yeah I’ve never been 100% on it, I hear of people drilling it out due to it being too small and and restricting oil from entering the drivers side bank and blocking up easily but I’ve also heard it can make the car burn through a fair bit more oil
  11. Brayden3223

    Few leaks on the vz

Yeah that’s probably something I should do while it’s all open and accessible, the motor has got a fair few km’s racked up on it so might as well
  12. Brayden3223

    Few leaks on the vz

Will do! I’ll crack open the rocker covers and have a look under there also, I keep hearing about people drilling out the valve for the pcv on the drivers side rocker cover, will that actually help keep the engine good?

    Few leaks on the vz

    Legend, will do

    Few leaks on the vz

Cheers mate, think I’ll be going for the engine out approach, 16 year old car so I’m bound to find more issues, do you have any opinions for the power steering pump?

    Few leaks on the vz

Ah fair call, originally I was planning to throw the car on stands and drop the gearbox for rear main (with help from one of the boys who’s a mechanic) and then for the timing cover, pull off the front bar, pull the fans and then drop out all the other necessities for the bit of extra wiggle room
  16. Brayden3223

    Few leaks on the vz

So it’s best to drop the whole engine out and do it all? How long did it take you to do it all roughly?
  17. Brayden3223

    Few leaks on the vz

Howdy guys, just a few questions as the ol vz likes to piss fluids and it’s starting to get annoying. 1. How hard is it to do the rear main seal (am mechanically minded and half decent on the tools) and any tips/tricks to make the job a bit easier 2. Basically the same as Question 1 but about...

    Remote Start

Okay can confirm Just4Commodores sell a remote start kit that work without issue. Took me about half an hour to nap install and works brilliantly. Goes off the factory key too
  19. Brayden3223

    Remote Start

I’ve done a bit of research and there’s a company called just4commodores that sell a kit, it seems fairly simple to install and havent seen anybody say anything bad about them or about any faults with it

    Remote Start

I Ive seen a few vz’s and vy’s with it done, so it seems like it’s possible. Hope so, Melbourne weather hasn’t been so kind and would like that heater going before I get out of bed!

    Remote Start

Howdy guys, I was just wondering what are our options on getting remote starts for the VZ. Preferably one that uses the factory key. I’ve had a look online and I can’t find any that state it’ll work on the vz, any help would be appreciated

Ve to vz wheel tire size

Yeah I’ve already had them machined and got the wheel studs. Too easy mate! Thanks for that
  23. Brayden3223

Ve to vz wheel tire size

Hey so I’ve got a set of 19” ve ssv wheels for my vz, I was wondering what the correct tire size is for them as they rub against the strut with the current tires on them now, and if any of you guys could recommend any decent tire brands that’d be great! Cheers

    Oil leak

Cheers mate, spot on with it
  25. Brayden3223

    Oil leak

Looks like it might be coming from the upper right side of the engine and then running down and dripping from off from under it
  26. Brayden3223

    Oil leak

Hey guys back again, this time with a oil leak, it looks like it’s coming down from in between the cats, any idea to what it might be?

Changing out fuel pump vz sv6

I managed to do it myself in a couple of hours, it’s definitely easier if you have an extra set of hands, I put the rear of the car on ramps, put a jack under the fuel tank with a few things under it to distribute the weight evenly, undone the straps for the tank and had someone slowly lower the...

    Ve wheels on VZ

Hey guys quick question, I just got Ve wheels for my car and I understand I need the centre hub machined to fit my vz. I’m just wondering if anybody knew any places around the south east Melbourne area that does it and rough cost on prices? Or if any of you guys have any good tips for doing it...

Steering wheel control hook up on Vz to kenwood stereo

Not exactly. I’ve tried connecting to the steering remote ground with the one on the original harness with input 2 in there (purple and red wire) and I put input 1 to steering wheel controls (green and red). I’ve gotten absolutely nothing from it so far
  30. Brayden3223

Steering wheel control hook up on Vz to kenwood stereo

Just to double check, do you mean put Input 2 or “Key 2” to the Remote Ground on the factory harness and to the “swc” wire off my harness? Sorry still got just a little bit of confusion

Steering wheel control hook up on Vz to kenwood stereo

hey mate do you mean the top plug there? Any recommendations to splice into it without cutting cables on the back?
  32. Brayden3223

Steering wheel control hook up on Vz to kenwood stereo

Hey guys, I’m in the same situation, I’ve got the KENWOOD ddx4018bt unit. In settings it has the swc setup and a 3.5mm aux input for the controls built into it. I was wondering if I still need the aerpro steering wheel harness or if I can wire it in directly. On the wires it has ground(which is...

    Wagon Weathershields

Hey guys just a quick question, one of my mates own a wagon and he’s looking to buy weathershields for it. He’s wanting to do front and rear doors but can’t find anywhere that will do it on the vz. Does anybody know who or where to get them? Cheers

    Coil pack engine loom

I’m yet to find a vy cheaper than a vz
  35. Brayden3223

    Coil pack engine loom

I managed to track it down, it comes from the passenger side firewall!

    Coil pack engine loom

Hey guys so I just changed my thermostat and that’s something I never want to do again, I’ve just reassembled everything and tried to turn the engine over and it won’t go, I forgot to plug in a single cable but I can’t exactly work out where it’s meant to go? I can’t see any plugs near or around it
