Thanks to yourself and the others i now have good seals and new water pump up front...but...upon doing the the refill and bleed i noticed that the radiator inlet hose did not at any time fill..it remained squeezy and no liquid came out of bleeder...is it now fair to say that the thermostat did...

Ok thanks. I didnt apply any sort of lube but i am going to redo with a new housing. I have seen a couple around for sale including a VE housing would anybody know if they are compatible? It does look the same with exception of a Bleed tube. Could it be used by blocking off extra tube?

That is your picture there... unfortunately i did not take a shot of mine. I imagined that the two surfaces would have mated under correct torque and i was reluctant to force it further before checking. So the gist of it is..had a leak went to fix it and found on refit the gap was there..wasnt...

No not those seals. After replacing the seals on the coolant intake housing ( the round and the oddish square one) and then bolting the housing back up to required torque i found that there was a gap of a few mm between housing and block.

Hello Mr Manchu. Regarding the coolant filler pipe i have twice removed it to fix a leak from the seals and each time the leak persisted. I cleaned the faces and used new seals. I am probably going ro use a new pipe third attempt. But my question is this..after bolting up to the required torque...

Mr Manchu would be kind enough to elaborate on the splaying. How would i go about that keeping in mind i have limited tools and no vice.

While changing out coolant hoses and heater tap on an alloytec i noticed a hose at the rear of engine bay that i do not remember disconnecting nor can i see where it should go onto. It has a bit of a hooked end and does not rise up to far above engine and it runs down firewall into tranny...

I am planning ro replace the water outlet seals in vz. Is it the case that a new gasket between upper intake( plenum) and lower intake if required will be a metal gasket? If it is..is gasket sealant required on these surfaces. If i am off the mark here could you tell me whats what?
