HelpTrying to decide whats up with cooling system

Job done boys.4 takeaways: 1: old parts aint what they used to be, if its pitted or been scraped some goo is the go. 2: dont use red goo around where you are looking out for pink fluid leaks. 3: using permatex grey "the right stuff" is expensive and a nightmare if your not prepared for the 5 min...

I read an older post you made about alloytec water inlet and pump where you posted some pics back in 2014 and you answered some things i am wondering about. But in your post you mention the metal sandwich shim..i did not reinstall this plate, was this a mistake in your view? After instal i did...

HelpTrying to decide whats up with cooling system

The mention of low pressure sort of feels right..especially noticing that full flow seems evident after a drive as opposed to roving or idling. Which leads me to question my installation.. Maybe too much goo or bad pump.. The one that came off had a metal shim which was not reinstalled.. Does...

HelpTrying to decide whats up with cooling system

Bleeding as per fu Manchu.. Have done it successfully over last few days doing inlet seals then new hoses and heater tap.. All went well.. Did after pump.. This time seems different..half hour later top hose still squeezy. Would be helpful to confirm this: top pipe should fill firm and full...

Ok thanks. I didnt apply any sort of lube but i am going to redo with a new housing. I have seen a couple around for sale including a VE housing would anybody know if they are compatible? It does look the same with exception of a Bleed tube. Could it be used by blocking off extra tube?

[VZ] VZ VE VF Alloytec Cooling System Repairs

That is your picture there... unfortunately i did not take a shot of mine. I imagined that the two surfaces would have mated under correct torque and i was reluctant to force it further before checking. So the gist of it is..had a leak went to fix it and found on refit the gap was there..wasnt...

[VZ] VZ VE VF Alloytec Cooling System Repairs

No not those seals. After replacing the seals on the coolant intake housing ( the round and the oddish square one) and then bolting the housing back up to required torque i found that there was a gap of a few mm between housing and block.

[VZ] VZ VE VF Alloytec Cooling System Repairs

Hello Mr Manchu. Regarding the coolant filler pipe i have twice removed it to fix a leak from the seals and each time the leak persisted. I cleaned the faces and used new seals. I am probably going ro use a new pipe third attempt. But my question is this..after bolting up to the required torque...

    Help with identifying hose adventra.

While changing out coolant hoses and heater tap on an alloytec i noticed a hose at the rear of engine bay that i do not remember disconnecting nor can i see where it should go onto. It has a bit of a hooked end and does not rise up to far above engine and it runs down firewall into tranny...

[VZ] VZ VE VF Alloytec Cooling System Repairs

I am planning ro replace the water outlet seals in vz. Is it the case that a new gasket between upper intake( plenum) and lower intake if required will be a metal gasket? If it is..is gasket sealant required on these surfaces. If i am off the mark here could you tell me whats what?
