Thanks for your reply and I will try swapping it out. It just seems strange to me that it comes good for the rest of the day. But I don't fully understand computerised engines so that's why I'm here asking the people that do.

Hi all, so I've got a 2008 VE SS ute. L98 engine and 6 speed manual. The problem is most morning on first start it revs it's head off. It will sit 2000- 3000rmp. When I drive it the rpm is erratic. This last for ten minutes then everything calms down and is normal. I can leave it all day at work...
