Looking at those photos, thats a bodgy job with badges. Just take them all off mate. Dont drive around pretending to be an SS, you'll just get **** for it.

Holden never made a VY SSS. There's never been a SSS in the Holden line up. The badges are joined anyhow, you don't just take 'one S off', you either take them all off or nothing. It's an S pack with SS badges.

Sorry to throw a bit of controversey in here... but for any stock family car V6 auto? Low 16's are to be expected. Im yet to see any stock ecotec pull anything better than high 15's. Same goes for the Fords, Magna's etc.

Yeah, the SC V6 was almost as quick (if not quicker) than the 5.0L in the Vt Series I. Although the 5.0L makes the ballsiest note on this planet, and with mods you could take it further. I'd say there'd only be so much you could with the SC V6.

That sounds pretty realistic to me. I think you'd have to do a bit more than CAI and exhaust to crack 15's in a VT/VX V6.

Hi guys, just doing a bit of research, and was wondering if anyone you know has sent their V6 ecotec auto down the 1/4's, with only mods being CAI and 2.5" exhaust? I wanna get some idea on track times for some comparison.

Yeah the 98 model probably had the shitty engine, I think from 2000 onwards they only got 3.0L and 3.5L V6's, and the 3.5L V6 is said to be the one to look out for.

Hmm, definately. I reckon a 4spd auto TJ would be quicker than a 4sp auto VT... whaddaya reckon?

Dunno bout you guys... but every stock V6 Commodore owner I've talked to, says they get whipped when taking on stock TJ Magna's. On paper, the TJ Magna is quicker. Wonder what the difference would be between a TJ and a VT with the same mods? i.e exhaust, CAI, simple stuff. Anyone else noticed...

Theres not much between the auto and manual track times these days either anyway. Well, a manual would eat an auto around a race course, but down a straight the difference is neglible.

Hmm, not sure why I got charged less... is the GTO front end cheaper? Otherwise I've got Clubbie skirts and rear bar. Have a squiz at my first GTO front end though, it's not too flash.

Girlfriends brother bought one, and he loves it. And he owned a VY SS before that, so I reckon his opinion's pretty valid. He wants his LS1 back but he cant afford to run the bloody thing, the way he drives.

$1600 painted and fitted. Spent $1500 on the two toning and the new GTO front end (old one was **** and got attacked by a few curbs).

Hmm, people that have seen the car in person reckon the blue's way better, perhaps I should get some better photo's. I reckon it looks to plain jane when it's just silver. Tried to do something different, rather than just go down the big wheels/lowering path like everyone else.

SSV do them, but I think CAPA does as well, unless of course they're getting them from the same manufacturer.
