After multiple calls to the dealer this morning, I got a reply this afternoon that the car is repaired. However, PRA authorised only the faulty injector be replaced. I asked they contact them again re-stating the known issues, ACL requirements for known faulty products & Holden's own bulletin...

If the sound only occurs with clutch actuation, then it's unlikely to be the known ball joint re-torque or sway bar links issues.

Heard back from the dealership. My diagnosis was correct. Failed injector # 1. They're applying to Holden for the "good will" repair. I told them it had nothing to do with good will given it's a known fault with the injectors & was a consumer law matter. We'll see tomorrow. I've got a feeling I...

Does the noise come from a particular side? Does it happen when you turn one way or the other?

The VF V6 get the 6L45 as per the MY12+ VE. The 6L45 is a lighter duty transmission 350Nm max input torque vs 450Nm for 6L50 & weighs ~10kg less. V8s still get the 6L80 (660Nm) with revised shift. They're all the same family.

Did that myself yesterday & picked up 4x S001 235/45R17 for the price of three. $225 vs $205 for the RE002 was no contest for the Jap made tyre. The RE002 is made in either Indonesia or Thailand depending on size. The car had stock OE RE030 (~55000k). Here's a pic: Tyre roar is now gone...

Don't get hung up on the ZF hype. Ford Australia don't get the high end packages (unsure of FPV) & rework for their needs. It won't be hard for a 6L80 to match the 6HP26 as a 5L40 handily outperforms mine... :(

FIT SV6 with standard 5L40 transmission? IIRC these things only handle ~360NM input torque. Caddy's use these on the HFV6, but switch to 5L50 for the Northstar V8. Magic has standard Alloytec mated to 4L60. Anyone know how Capa deals with this on their SV6?

Same thing happened to me many years ago with a 202 rocker cover bolt. Mine sheared flush with the head. I did what you're suggesting. I drilled a pilot into the bolt & used an easy-out (reverse thread tap) to remove the remaining thread. Worked a charm. Good luck.

mantha, where'd you pick it up? I was at auctions today & they were going to referral for $24k/~17kms, mainly 04 models. I noted that 05 models had LSD listed, but not 04 models. Is this part of the Feb update?
