Ok have looked into it and the stock VY SS 6spd is well into the 6 second barrier and have talked to a few people who think if gear changes were the best could be possible to get into the high 5's!

Best thing to do.. Source a good second hand set of pacemakers for around $500-$600.. then get a twin 2.5 inch mild steel difillipo cat back system for round $750.. and the rest on just getting that pipe infront of your cats opened up to 2.5 inchs.. and that should be your $1500 roughly.. then...

all ive had is a cat back twin 2.5 exhaust, a higgins otr and mafless tune and went from 235kw to just over 300kw!

Rough estimate from me would be 171kw and 235-245kw's for the SC6 and VY SS respectively.. though with around $2200 of mods on the ss eg cat back tune and otr.. it'd push over 300kw's! and running high 12's! now to get that time from a sc6 and or power youd be looking at alot more than $2200 id...

I would recommend getting atleast a cat back twin 2.5 inch exhaust done b4 hand!.. otherwise itd just be a waste.. and you wouldnt get the most outa of your tune!.. and also go a air charger or higgins otr cai imo! the better she breathes the more HP she should gain!

Dude I'd make sure you know what heads to get and why before you just go putting some on!.. as far as ive heard and read around they both seem to do a very good job.. esp the higgins!

Ive acutally found having a bit more backpressure has gained some torque and go in low to mid range!

yeah round there roughly.. though i reckon mine have settled lower over the 5 months ive had them in now!

VZ SSZ 18s and superlow lovells! nuff said ;) and i get away with only my cats touching the speed humps and steeper driveways! ;) Any lower with fuel and any passengers and shed have to be a show car not a daily!.. imo superlows are the lowest I'd go for practicality and still be able to get...

Update for me.. i decided on performance over all out noise.. have sold the system that was on hotdogs only in centre.. and went with straight bolt on cat back twin 2.5 inch Difilipo system.. Things I've noticed thus far besides this new system being alot quiter with a rear straight through...

i used the sepatone red caliper and drum high temp paint on mine.. does say hi temp on it.. self primes too so no need to prime.. i also bought a can of sepatone wax n grease remover that i sprayed on and wiped the calipers over as much as possible.. paint stuck really well.. with 4-5 light...

If ya have the stock silver PBR brake calipers.. paint them red! look much better! ;)..

Hey guys.. Ive have a mafless tune/ edit done.. and am running a higgins aluminium OTRCAI and twin 2.5 inch custom cat back system.. running only two 2.5 inch berklei hotdogs centre with no rear ressies.. only two 3 inch stainless tips.. couldnt be happier with the sound and go! here's couple...

Mine was 28500 including 12 months rego.. thought it was reasonable seeing as its a manual too and silver :D.. the series one also comes with genuine 18 inch spare rim n tyre unless someones taken it out.. Around here at dealers ive seen series II stock SS sedans going for $32-$35k.. Be well...

anything lower than superlows will require a camber kit other wise inner tyres will wear first.. and some have said camber kits cause undue stress on components.. imo for practicality and piece of mind superlows are the way to go..

Damn horn on my VY SS Series 1 went off last night at 3:30am.. and stayed on until i opened the car up and gave the horn pad / airbag area a good hit.. then locked it up and went inside and it went off again.. man what must the neighbours be thinking... :|.. happened 4 times last night! grrrr...

shes looks mighty fine to me :).. and yeah ive done similar in the past with things.. few times i shoulda gone the whole 9 yards instead of settling for less lol.. and youd also find the SS isnt that far off the V6 if youre not a lead foot in terms of fuel consumption :) couple more pics :D

lowest comfortable ride id go is superlow lovells.. anything lower and it becomes a problem with bumps potholes and speed humps.. just make sure you dont go bigger than an 18 inch rim later on :)

yeah i had a twin 2.5 inch cat back with redback mufflers centre.. dropped them for two race style hotdogs :D i woulda kept the 20's if a coulda.. but was them or the wifes ring.. i can live with the SSZ 18s :D Few more pics too :)

Atm i reckon vy ss series 1 is best bang for the buck.. some people buying them for low 20's!
