    Whats your favorite Condoms?

For me, it's the regular Ansell bad boys. Unfortunately you can't purchase them in the UK or UAE. It's Durex or nothing. Also, condoms in the UK are a rip! £6 (~$11 AUD) for a 6 pack...

    $800 Budget, Help With System!

Head over to MEA (mobile electronics Australia) and do a search for $1000. You’ll find a few threads that give recommendations as to what equipment to buy. I’d also consider buying some gear second hand to keep costs down. I’ve got no problems buying a second hand amp and head unit via...

    Farad Capacitors

+1 to first upgrading the “Big 3”. As said previously, caps are a band-aid solution. I think off the top of my head, the OEM grounds are 8 gauge... From the specs provided by the OP, 4 gauge would be the minimum sized wire you’d use (seeing the OP has used 4 gauge as the main power wiring...

+1 Rather then wasting your time buying and installing a cap, upgrade the big 3. If you're planning on running a powerful system, you may also consider upgrading the battery and alternator...

[General] Replace Rear Brake Pads - Done on VE Commodore

In my opinion (and I'm not a mechanic mind you) you don't need to install the plates. The plates are there to stop brake squeal. The fancy name for the metal plates is a "brake shim". The work by stopping the pad moving around in the caliper when you apply your foot to the brake pedal. If...

My 1997 Mitsubishi TF Magna Executive

Nice cheap ride you've got there. For $750 you got a bargin! It's a shame it doesn't have the 3L V6 in her...those engines were pretty smooth and refined (in my opinion smoother then the equivalent Commodore 6 of the same year), and had a bit of poke in them. Then again you can't argue...

    PowerVox Amplifiers

+1 to everything said above. Old school Alpine/Kenwood/Phoenix Gold/PPi are fantastic cheap buys. If your current amp happily runs your setup, the Alpine amp previously listed will easily run your setup. You have to remember that a lot of the old school equipment is underrated. That means it...

Vx commodore Stero install and design.

Personally I wouldn't have bothered buying the 6x9", you've just wasted money which could have been spent buying a better amp/front splits/sub. Rear speakers are for fill only! Some of the best car audio setups (you'll find plenty on MEA), believe it or not, DON'T RUN REAR SPEAKERS!!!

    Petrol Station Air Compressors

+1 to above comment The petrol station air compressors are a "set and forget" setup. Just specify what pressure you want to fill your tyres to, connect up and hold the nozzle to the tyre valve, and the machine will do the rest. It even beeps when the tyre is at the correct pressure! Easy!

    Precision Response vs Vifa

Where does it state that they are made in Denmark??? Jaycar have Vifa car audio listed on their website! - Mobile Electronics Australia It appears that they have indeed dropped in quality. Designed in Denmark, made in China, and not as good as the orignal Danish made Vifa speakers.

Refused Insurance to drive VE SV6

BIG DEAL if the VS doesn’t have stability control. As a learner, you should NEVER EVER get into the situation where you’ll need stability control to kick in to get yourself out of strife. Hell, this applies for all drives on our roads. You should be learning to drive to the conditions of the...

Repaired the rear tyre.....walked out this morning to find the tyre had picket up a screw, and was completly flat!!! Gear box service???

Hey mate, when was the last time the auto box was serviced?? If your good with your hands, and have some basic tools lying around, you can easily service the auto yourself. do you miss your first car .....

My first car was an XF ute. Yeah to this day I still miss it! What I loved about it was that is was easy to work on, and spare parts were cheap. Also, being a ute, it was more practical vehicle when I occasionally help out my parents on the farm. I also miss the carrying capacity. SO handy when...

[General] How to Jack up your car and put it on Safety Stands

I was going to recommend the same thing, but rather on the jack stands, place a slab of timber on the jack itself. That way, when your jacking up your car, the force the jack is applying is evenly spread over the surface your jacking on. If you jack just using the jack circle, you run the...

    ceiling insulation - any difference

How hard is it to install the batts into the ceiling?? When I was helping to renovate the old folks home, installing the batts into the wall was dead easy. Just use a knife to cut the batts to size to fit inside the walls, push the batts into place, then install the plasterboard over the top...
