    Project 12s Turbo VT V6

come on man the total build cost so far is probably $500 = $100 RWC + $400 rego vt was probably gifted to old mate, turbo hardware was probably left over from his Falcon projects (no offence intended turbo_will, just trying to make a point) say the car was his daily (which it isn't)...

Fark. I've made up some rubber isolators (earth strap across the rubber) that sit between the block and knock sensor for my soon to be budget turbocharged v6 auto VY. Didn't realize the ECU was that smart. Back to the drawing board.

    Turbo VT

oi, what are the pipe sizes that you are running? is the other cylinder bank going to be collector style or log style? what size pipe is the crossover going to be? i'm envyous of the fact that you have a spare enigne to make the manifolds on; making manifolds on an engine in the bay sucks...

For the positioning of the turbo I made sure that it was centered width ways. Height wise I made sure that it was roughly below the top radiator hose. With regards to length ways I made sure that it was as close to the engine as I could get it so that I could fit thermo fans infront of the...

    IBLOWN(Video on page 2)

dude you car is absolutely unreal. definitely in a class of its own and definitely in need of a better blower. what about a vortech or a powerdyne with the cnc impeller upgrade?

mmm, interesting. sucks that you didn't stick with the turbo but i guess the supercharger you are getting is even more rare. will you keep us updated with how it's progressing (the blower install that is)? have you got any plans for engine internals or cam/rockers?

today was a pretty slack day. mounted the turbo. mounted the intercooler. finished half the intercooler pipework. the intercooler pipework is pretty cool. the maf is hidden. there are only two silicon bends in the engine bay. the pipework is 3" mild steel. it will be MIGed up by the local...

hahaha, the aviators are my friends. he got them from buying a CC at the pub. yeah, the exhaust flanges are 12mm. i'm trying to minimise warpage. i have already got 1.9:1 rockers with the stock cam. (i.e. heaps of lift with stock overlap.) i have heard that forced induction setups don't like...

sure was a big day. got the sump out and put a fitting in it. put the sump back in the car. then made the collector sections of the manifolds so that they can be TIGed up. here are some pics: i bought some steel today to make a jig for positioning the turbo. tomorrow i'll...

yeah, if i had my time again then i would have got a alloy fitting welded to the sump but i have to have the sump back on the car tomorrow morning so that i can start to make the primary sections of the manifolds. these are due at the welders on monday. then i'm going to attempt to jig up the...

hahaha. i said the same thing when i was your age. i'm now 22 so i've waited long enough. looks like your ute will be a good base for you to start modding and you seemed to have picked it up for a good price too. give me two weeks if all goes to plan. i'm going to attempt to track down an...

today's progress... not much really. bought some steam pipe for the manifolds and some exhaust tube for the dump pipe mounted the gauges in the centre consol. the mounting process went very smoothly but the end result wasn't as good as i had hoped. i'm not emo though so i'll get over it...

-------------- bit of an update -------------- decided i'd put together a bit of a turbo kit for myself, been very challenging so far as i've never really had much to do with turbos except getting blown away by them every time i'm at the traffic lights hoping to double the utes power once...

    why do people hoon?

my point of view I for one love driving my car hard, but I hate having to go to some deserted road in the middle of nowhere and the whole time feel guilty about having fun in my car. In the eyes of the law I’m just as bad as those who race on the roads and drive recklessly in populated areas...

What is the most popular driving night in your city/town?

I remember at one stage that Thursday nights at the waterfront got so popular that you could barely get into the place (this was a few years ago before I had my licence). There are some tuff cars in Gladdy, sucks to hear about the rice problem though... Some Thursday nights in Rocky were off...

What is the most popular driving night in your city/town?

As the title says, what is the most popular driving night where you live? I’m curious because from all of the places that I have lived so far (Gladstone, Rockhampton and atm Mt Isa) the night seems to be by far Thursday. I was wondering if this was Australia wide, or just a coincidence. Thanks

nice clean VS S... i'm no expert at drags but 15.751 seems like a pretty good time for a near stock car if i was you i'd strike the Powerchip Gold 98 Memcal off the future plans list. spend a few hundred more dollars and you can get YT 1.9:1 roller rockers which offer way more performance per...

i originally had KHFL-47SSL in the front and KHPR-20SL in the back.
