Just after some recommendations on decent quality rocker cover gaskets for my LS3 6.2 engine? I've only done 69k km, and they have allegedly been replaced twice before by Holden under warranty, they seal for little while, and then leak again. So obviously not wanting shyte quality genuine ones...

Yeah I'll give it another go after cleaning it up properly. Had absolutely no issues with the fronts.

Length wise. 110.0mm vs 109.7mm. Pad thickness 14mm.

So... after installing the new front rotors and pads without issue, I came to do the rears, and the new pads don't fit ‍♂️ The pads are Intima SR, same as the fronts. I've been in contact with manufacturer and they are correct pads for the VF Brembo rear calipers, dimensions are within 0.3 mm...

Definitely specified REDLINE Brembo rears. The caliper is the same for Ford FPV, Jaguar and others. To look at they are exactly the same, until you go to fit them. I used the same brand for the fronts, with no issues. They don't have the counterweight however not all brands do.

Interesting to note the factory originals are a Ferrodo pad too.

Is there a difference between VF 1 and VF 2 Brembo rears? Every parts site just has VF Redline Front / Rear. The pad design is exactly the same as the factory one, except for the length being slightly out.

No definitely VF redline rears (along with numerous other models like FPV etc). To look at they are identical, until you measure with a vernier.

So I ended up buying the genuine rotors from Holden parts, with the help of a mate in the game, so fitted up the new front rotors and Intima SR Pads this morning, no issues. Despite Holden service saying both needed to be replaced immediately, I have done a further 10000km since then, and on...

Agreed... as I found out today. I nipped it up with the claws but ideally I'd prefer a filter cup tool. No idea why the Ryco one doesn't fit, maybe their compatible filters are a different to the genuine ones?

Yeah I've heard of a few issues before. I plan to flush it all out at the next service and stick some decent Penrite or Nulon Red in there.

How easily? I'm assuming from either underneath or peeling back the inner guard liner?

I've never had big brakes before, on my Suby I got almost 140000km from the front pads and over 210000km on the rotors, granted its a lighter car and manual also.

I haven't tracked the ute yet, just normal freeway driving and city driving. I can see the pads are down, but want to measure rotors with a micrometer... but not sure what the minimum thickness is on the factory rotors.

Get the highest capacity one you can afford, usually with the most amount of CCA. I have the factory fitted AC Delco one in my ute, it's 4 years old, and still has more CCA than the battery is rated at! My other cars I've always used Australian made Century batteries, current one is 6 years...
